[ this is a joining the pride post but Chance doesn't know it xD]
A tawny shape twisted and turned through the mangrove trees moving at a no faster pace than a walk. It was most obviously a lion. This lion was Chance. The male walked on through the sweltering marsh, panting heavily. Where he was headed he didn't know. What he wanted here he didn't know. It was if he was walking in a dream. On his approachal a flock of white birds flew into the air. Chance manevored his great head to glance at them before continuing to walk. As the smell of fresh water enticed him, he hastened to a fast trot...
The lion reached a small pool of musky water. He moved forward to it eagerly and quickly. However murky it was, this was water. Plus it was water he needed most. Chance's great bulk lowered itself halfway into the cool water. After relaxing in the cooling water for a moment Chance moved onto the next important task: Drinking. Black lined jaws opened and water flowed in almost instantly. The lion gulped it down, savouring each trickle. Ten minutes later, Chance felt bloated and amazingly full. He eased himself up from the pool and moved away...
The male basked in the sun, body stretched out. He stayed that way for well over half and hour. Only when he heard a piercing bird call from above did he rouse himself. Yawning widely, glistening teeth shown to all, Chance stood up. Mouth open he tested the scents. Darn. No females around... that would have been good fun. Chance plonked onto his haunches and sat, looking around. Maybe...just maybe, a lioness would come so he could have some fun...Maybe...

When love makes this sound babe
A heart needs a second chance
Don’t put me down babe
Can’t you see I love you
A heart needs a second chance
Don’t put me down babe
Can’t you see I love you

Since you been gone I’ve been in a trance
This heart needs a second chance
Don’t say it’s over I just can’t say goodbye
I just can't say goodbye
This heart needs a second chance
Don’t say it’s over I just can’t say goodbye
I just can't say goodbye

I look to the sky
And everything is turnin’ grey
All I made was one mistake
Hmm, one mistake
And everything is turnin’ grey
All I made was one mistake
Hmm, one mistake

How much more will I have to pay
Why can’t you think it over
Why can’t you forget about the past
Can't ya forget about the past?
Why can’t you think it over
Why can’t you forget about the past
Can't ya forget about the past?
