Reluctance took Aiyana is a cold grasp. She had never told anyone what happened to make her so... strange sometimes, but she felt like she owed Taser an explanation for her actions. Not for the hyena, but for the angry words she'd yelled earlier. But, more importantly for what she'd thought of doing to him as she'd spoke them. However, telling him would surely leave some sort of burn on Aiyana. Words were just words, but they hurt all the same.
"I'm sorry for ruining your fight. That hyena was unique, powerful, but I need to let something go." She took a breath that hardly seemed to be enough air, but Aiyana kept talking. "it's about something... no, some things, I've done. Not to you, no, but these things are making me a different person. Maybe if I told you, you could help." There. She'd told him why the fight had been broken up. Why his fun had vanished into thin air, and his opponents scrambled. Above, the sun was finally relenting, darkening the world with each hour. The sky was not the only thing to be dark, Aiyana's voice was, too.
"When I was younger, by about a year, I watched a member of my pride die by hyenas. We had been fighting and rolled away from the pride." Aiyana looked away. She could not face Taser as she spoke of how much of a coward she had been. "The hyenas had been chasing me, and Benje, the one I was fighting with, tried to stop the hyenas. He called out to them, taunting them lie he had done to me so many times." A deep breaht was taken, and a tear slipped down her cheek. With a strained voice, Aiyana said, "I was too fast for the hyenas, even though I was small, so they took after Benje. He had tried to help me, to save me, but what did I do?" Aiyana chuckled one, soft, sad chuckle. "I ran. That's what I die after he.. after his kindess. Even when I heard him call my name, I did not turn back. Her eyes wound up on Taser again. "Taser, I didn't even look back. I didn't care if he died. All I could think about was how much he'd made fun of me, and how great my life would be if he would just disappear." Would Taser really want someone like that in his pride? Aiyana seriously doubted it.
"The night passed, as did the next day. Everyone was asking me where Benje was, but I lied to them. Aiyana met the male's gaze, but she was so ashamed that she was now whispering. I told my queen, my king, my whole pride, that I had won the fight, and Benje had run off because he was so embarrassed." Now, her tunes were thrown out loudly in and angry ruckus. "Of course, no one believed that! I could never win a fight against Benje, the almighty heir! They all just laughed at me, and told me to quit dreaming. I was so mad at them that I even told them I had killed Benje. That got more laughs, but Benje's mother was worried abut him, as was his father. Tunes became soft and emotionless after Aiyana had taken a breath. Eyes were unfocused, as if she couldn't see anything. "When they found a few bones of their young son, the king and his mate banished me from the pride. The king had growled at me, told me he never wanted to see my worthless face again. Told me that if i ever stepped foot on his lands again, he would kill me. I had no choice but to leave."
Aiyana wasn't sure whether to say anything about what she'd done to her father, so she remained quiet for awhile. Her gaze was cast at the ground, her head hung low. She was so ashamed of herself. But, there was more than just what had happened with Benjge. she had always been the cause of her father's death. And who knows what happened to her sister Kumani? Maybe she was exiled, too, because she was related to Aiyana. The fem would never know, and that tortured her.
