A playful growl emitted from Almira's throat as she gave chase to Jayvia. The lioness always stayed just out of reach! Close behind her, Almira did not think to look for her sister, so intent she was on catching Jayvia. At one point, she turned back toward Almira, teasing the cub with her nearness.
Tari's tail twitched as Jayvia came closer, realizing that the lioness did not know where she had gone. Sh felt like a great huntress stalking a buffalo--the type she had often seen grazing in their home and that she so wished to catch on her own. Her hind end wiggled slightly as Jayvia padded closer, readying herself for the leap. But Tari's expression turned to one of dismay as she turned from her path. Scowling, the young cub quickly crept forward, keeping hidden behind the reeds. Only when Jayvia began occupying herself with Almira did Tari launch her attack. Small paws pattered across the moist earth, tail waving in the air, as she zeroed in on her prey.

Jayvia heard the patter of pawsteps but did not move fast enough to avoid Tari. She grunted as the cub landed on her stomache. Instead of snapping at Tari, she batted at the cub's face playfully. Jayvia lept away from Almira and Tari, running around the clearing just out of their reach. Her tail twitched enticingly in the cubs faces before it was pulled away. She laughed as they played happily, hoping it would last for awhile longer.

Tari laughed triumphantly as she hit her mark, paws pushing into the larger stomach of the lioness. Got ya! Her playful growl sounded as Jayvia batted at her face, the splayed paw doing no damage. As she dashed away from them, Tari raced after her, hearing Almira not far behind.
Almira stood surprised as Tari made her attack, but then a grin broke out. Her sister had always been the more patient of the two. She cheered as Tari's successful attack landed on Jayvia, and then took after the two as they began to run.
Lothril watched form the sidelines, her face showing a mixture of joy and sadness. The two were growing older so quickly, but they still took any chance given to them to play like the cubs they were. She loved the innocence they personified. But...she desperately wished she could have spent more time with them playing. Ibalo's departure meant she had to take up his duties as well, and it did not leave her as much time as other mother's had with their cubs. And although they were having fun, it was time for business to turn to other things. Jayvia! Her short call held kindness in it. I'm sorry to stop the fun time you three are having, but we need to speak.

Jayvia looked up as her queen called her. Coming Lothril! Jayvia gave the cubs a lick on the ear. We can play later, I promise, alright? She padded towards her queen wondering if she had done something wrong. Her eyes wandered to where she was and she saw flowers and marshland plants. She bowed her head before sitting down in front of Lothril. Yes, Lothril?

Lothril relaxed to the ground, her average sized form stretching out halfway on her side. Hind legs splayed out to her right, while fronts paws rested in front of her. Long, heavy tail flicked casually back and forth as her upright skull watched Jayvia approach. The Queen's whole attitude spoke of relaxation and kindness, showing there was nothing to worry over. Her gaze shifted to her cubs as they played, before settling on the lioness who now sat in front of her.
This won't take long--I just wanted to let you know that there is another territory under our control, that of Beseni. If you could just keep an eye on what's going on there, I will be very grateful. Also, if you happen to find any rogues wandering, please send them to me--we are in need of more members. Do you happen to know of any right now?

Jayvia nodded that she understood. Am I to do patrols there regularly. She hoped that only patrols were needed. Her eyes glanced at the cubs before returning to the queen. Jayvia wondered if she would spend most of her time there or nearer to the pride. If I do patrols, how frequently should I do them? Jayvia shifted her weight. She wished to meet the members of her new pride and did not want to run into them first time on a patrol.

Lothril shrugged slightly, happy to see that Jayvia was willing to do what was needed. Just drop by now and then, to make sure everything is fine. Kinamasi is our home, and will always be such. Noticing the quick look the lioness cast toward Almira and Tari, a smile crossed her face. It was good for the pride, and for the cubs, that another was taking interest in them. She felt confident that with Sileree and Jayvia watching over them, they would be safe. Speaking of which...Although the other members haven't met you yet, everything should be fine if I'm not around. Most of the pride keep to themselves though, so it can be hard to get them all together at one time. However, I can find some of them, if you would like.

I would like it very much Lothril. She smiled happily knowing that she would have time with the cubs. They are so cute when they play. At least I don't have to do long patrols thankfully. What are the names of the pride members, Lothril? Jayvia was very curious of her other pride members and wished to become friends or at least be on good terms with them. She stood up and bowed politely to her queen before moving a little ways off and laying down to rest. The cubs had made her tire quickly and she was glad to relax for awhile.

A smile graced Lothril's face at Jayvia's words. How very nice it was for her to be so interested in the pride! Gathering her paws beneath her, the lioness pushed to her feet, giving her spine a nice pop before sitting. Well, your best bet for meeting another is Sileree, but there is also Vishar, Asaki...and perhaps Nkira. Lothril shrugged slightly. I have not seen the last two in a bit and have had no word of them--something I'm not too happy about. She scowled slighty, but then returned speaking. There is also a male cub by the name of Label that I have adopted. He is older than Almira and Tari.
Despite how engrossed she was in speaking, Lothril did not let her guard down when it came to her surroundings. As such, the constant survellience of her rounded ears caught a very unwelcome sound--that of a distant roar. You have got yo be kidding me. Her expression instantly turned to one of displeasure, and she cast a quick eye on Jayvia before looking toward the sound. I am sorry Jayvia, but I believe we have a visitor in the marsh, one I have met before. Could you please keep an eye on the children while I go speak to him? She had no wish to cut this visit so short--but duty called and she had to answer. Although she waited for Jayvia's answer, Lothril was ready to....'greet' the returning Deimos.

Jayvia lifted her head quickly when she heard a brute roar. Her eyes narrowed and a snarl escaped past her lips. She nodded to her queen. I will watch the cubs while you go take care of the 'visitor', Lothril. Her gazed turned to the cubs as she settled down to watch them. Her mind was alert to the fact that there was an intruder here and that made her jump at the smallest of sounds. Almira, Tari, why don't you two come over here and rest til your mother gets back. Alright? She hoped the cubs would not be difficult right now.
OOC: Sure. We can close the thread after a few more posts. I don't mind and I would like Jayvia to start exploring soon.

Almira glanced up from her game with Tari when Jayvia spoke. Already, their mother was sprinting off to some unknown destination and she turned her gaze back to the lioness. With the boundless energy only a cub could have, she splashed her way through puddles to Jayvia, not caring about the mud that splattered her already dirty coat. Looking toward where her mother had gone, she spoke innocently. Where is mother going? An ear flicked back when she heard Tari coming up behind her, but she kept her attention focused on Jayvia's answer.
Tari followed her sister at a more sedate, but no less joyful pace. Flopping down on the ground next to Jayvia's paw, she looked up at the lioness as well. This was the first pride member other than their mother who truly played with them, and it made Tari like her very much. However, she was much more willing to let Almira do the talking and benefit from the answers herself.

Jayvia gazed off after Lothril as she bound away through the brush. The brute's call had warned her of danger to the cubs. She did not know that Deimos was the pride king. She brought away from her thoughts when Tari and Almira came over to her. When Jayvia heard Almira's question, she sighed. She watched the cubs as they came beside her. She gazed off to where Lothril disappeared. Your mother is dealing with a brute that has wandered into the territory. She looked upset when she heard him. Jayvia's eyes turned back to the cubs. Do you think you know it is if he worries your mother so much?

Oh. The small breath of air escaped Almira as she listened to Jayvia's answer--but she had no idea how to answer her question. She was the active cub--the one who led and made quick decisions. Her sister though, was the one for more delicate matters, with her long patience and searching mind. It did not take long for the two to realize their strengths, weaknesses, and how they complimented one another. And so for this matter, Almira turned to Tari, giving her a slight nudge in support.
Taking her cue from her older sister, Tari thought quietly for a moment. Finally, she began hesitantly before her voice grew in confidence. Mother does not trust men since daddy left. It did not even cross her mind that her mother hadn't told Jayvia about their father, so she continued. Do you know who has come, miss?

Jayvia backed away from the cubs in shock. Their father left them? Her mind reeled at the thought. Why would someone abandon their family let alone their cubs? She struggled to keep her emotions under control, but she knew that they were show clearly on her face. I am sorry, but I don't although I think your mother does. Anyway why don't you two go and play, but make sure I can see you. Jayvia padded away from the cubs then settled down a few tail lengths away. Her gaze wandered around the clearing, making sure everything was fine.

Tari tilted her head at the lioness' reaction, but opted to say nothing. Was it so strange to not have a father around? Sadly, she and her sister thought such a thing was the norm, a way most cubs lived. At Jayvia's suggestion, Tari shrugged her small shoulders. I'm kind of tired--I think I'd rather sleep. Small paws stepping in Jayvia's footprints, she joined the lioness, laying against her leg contentedly. Head resting on the ground, eyelashes slowly fluttered close, feeling safe in the presence of an adult.
Almira frowned, not really ready to sleep yet. Suit yourself. Although the mumble sounded cross, she was not truly angry. Obeying Jayvia's words, she wandered only a short distance away, choosing to amuse herself with a line of ants marching along. Crouching so close that her whiskers nearly touched them, she watched them intently. Feeling the desire to cause some chaos in their lives, a paw slammed down, blocking their journey. The insects scattered, and then began to look for a way around. Taking pity on their confusion, Almira drew her leg back. After a few more moments of watching, she sighed quietly, growing bored with the ants. Finding nothing else interesting to do, she returned to Tari and Jayvia. Without a word, she settled next to her sister, deciding it would just be best to take a nap until Tari woke.
