Abeni A golden body slipped through the dry grasses, snapping twigs underfoot. The honey coloured lioness had her head down, not caring where she was going. Ever since that day... that horrible day...she'd been reduced to a smaller, less confident self. A heavy sigh escaped her black lips as she sat on a large, sun-bleached rock. Her tail was curled around her body tightly, as if it could comfort her somehow. The five year old lioness let her thoughts carry her away from the real world... I walked through the grasslands alone. Suddenly a male lion came into view. I paused but before she knew it she was talking to the male, whom she learned his name was Kalu. I gave mine and was soon falling in love. Kalu seemed to feel the same and led me to another place nearby. The first meeting, the female thought, smiling slightly. Once more she let her memories carry her away... I lay beside Kalu peacefully, safely and happily. They spent some time talking before Kalu asked her the question. Would I be his mate? I said yes and sighed happily. Shortly after, he asked her if I'd care to bear his cubs. I said yes to this too and felt as if she was in heaven. The lioness smiled as she remembered that moment, possibly one of the best in her life. Lowering herself until she was lying on the rock, tail dangling down she remembered the next best moment in her life. Two little cubs dangled from my jaws. One male and one female. As I reached my mate I set them down happily. Kalu licked the male, Kato whilst I groomed Addana, the female. I felt blissful that I had been blessed two little bundles of joy. Soon, the cubs buried into my fur and fell asleep and I laid my head on Kalu's back.A soft smile crept up her lips as the lioness thought of her cubs. Now grown, Kato would soon be leaving for the big world while her daughter, Addana would stay in the pride. A frown creased her muzzle as she remembered Kalu. Her loving mate, who'd destroyed her world. She felt annoyed and a little angry with him. He'd raped another lioness for no reason and doing so, had destroyed her trust and more importantly, her whole life. The lioness stood up and let out a sad roar. (The memories text may not be completely right as I couldn't find the actual threads as they've been destroyed.)

(close enough lol)
Kalu slowly walked through the territory he used to call home. his life was screwed up, and he knew very well that it would probably never go back to the way it use to be. His paws hit the ground gently as he walked through the muddy lands. He hated himself for what he had done, but he couldn't go back now, time wasn't on his side this time. He tired to remember the happy times, but they always turned to dust, leaving him with the not so happy times. The times he wished had never happened. Kalu had run into Kato a few times while he had been wondering, and his son seemed to understand his pain. He would simply tell him about Abeni and then leave. But Kalu wanted to see Abeni, to be able to lick her ears again and keep her close like always
Then she came into view. The beautiful lioness he had longed to see. She had not aged at all, and looked as beautiful as ever. His mane ruffled lightly in the breeze and his tail twitch slightly. He didn't dare go any closer to her. He let his yellow scan her body, but he didn't smile, he dared not smile, for he wasn't sure how mad she was at him. He sat down slowly, making ever move with caution. He had never doubted her strength, and he knew very well just how strong she was. He looked at her once more, his ears twitching slightly. He wondered how mad she was at him, and she wondered if she had found a new mate, after all, she did smell like she was in heat. He sat tall, not making any other movements. If she had chosen a new mate, he would understand, he had done some bad mistakes after all, that would probably never be forgiven. [/blockquote][/size]

Abeni sighed at the silence that penetrated her very soul. He wasn't coming back. Two years of waiting had proven that. Sure he'd broken her heart but who could stay angry at the handsome male for long? She raised beseeching eyes to the sky in hope. Today would be different. The strong she lion could feel it in her pulsing blood. A soft breeze ruffled her beautiful pelt gently as if it could feel her sadness. She stretched her muscles, enjoying the feel of strength rippling through her. She stood ready to leave the sight after her sadness. Life had never been the same since her mate had left her.
As she turned to go hunting she stood stock still. Kalu? Could it...? Joy spread through her body as Abeni gazed at Kalu. He didn't look any different than ever, only handsomer. Her ears twitched in time with her tail. There was no doubt about it now. That was defiently Kalu. Her golden eyes looked into his own, which were full of yearning. Two years of waiting for him built up in her body. Abeni rushed to him in a whirlwind of golden fur. She jumped onto him forcefully, playfully and joyfully. She cuffed his ear gently before standing back. A huge smile had spread upon her muzzle.
