Jafar
After the little encounter at the marsh, Jafar decided to go elsewhere for food. She had walked a little ways and came upon a lush green area. There must be food here eating all the greenness they can get, she thought with a smile on her face. She began to walk deeper into the basin when she spotted a stream. Other animals like water. And sure enough there was a female water buck. She thought this unusual because she usually saw these creatures in larger bodies of water.
She inched her way over, trying to make as little noise as possible. She had crept behind nearby vegetation and was about to leap when a maned lion tackled the water buck.
Iago
The male lion had been going for days with little water and food. He lost his family and his pride; he had no lions left- or so he thought. He spotted a basin. There must be food here eating all the greenness they can get. He saw a lioness walk into the basin and thought he recognized her as his sister, Jafar. No, it can't be her. She's dead. He shook it off.
Inside the basin, a stream was spotted. By the stream, a water buck was spotted. What luck!
This buck was silently brought down. He lept and as he lept, he thought he saw Jafar in the bushes beside him. Disillusion. He had had not food and water yet that day and it was hot.
He killed the water buck and began to eat.

Patrolling Beseni--that was what Tari's job was now. She wished more of the pride hung out here to give her some company, but besides that the land was fine. And hadn't she always enjoyed her alone time? Really, there was no need to complain. Besides, the young princess personally preferred the basin to the marsh--its waters seemed cleaner and the entire land just looked more pristine. At the moment, Tari was following one of the many streams that dotted the landscape, every now and then dabbling her paws in the water. The mud along the bank was churned up--a sign of the beasts that has halted here to drink before moving on. A meal would be a good thing now. The last time I ate was full was a few days ago.
With that in mind, the lioness slipped away from the stream in an effort to find better camoflauge. From her time spent here, Tari knew the area and any surrounding cover well, so it didn't take long for her to find a hidden trail often used by others who called Beseni their home. She paused for a moment as she caught the scent of prey ahead. With a feral grin that was more often seen on her sister's face, Tari took off after the smell, determined to find something to eat. After only a short jog, she came upon a water buck grazing beside the stream she had been walking by only a few minutes ago. Crouching to the ground, she stalked forward, head low and gaze intent on her prey.
Now as near as she could get without breaking cover, Tari readied herself for the attack, tensing and taking another quick once over at the area around to make sure everything was fine. It was at that moment that a large male sprung at the prey, easily taking it down. At first, Tari was simply too surprised to do anything save stare--and then she was reminded of her duty as the Queen's youngest daughter. And though the thought of confronting a strange male was a bit intimidating, Lothril and her family were not known for backing down from a challenge. She broke her cover and took a few steps toward the stranger, careful not to come so close as to be labeled as a threat. One never knew how others would react, so it was always prudent to be careful, and she was well aware of his much greater size. At the same time though, Tari needed to discover whether this lion threatened her pride or not. Do you know that you are hunting on another pride's land?

Iago
A lioness emerged from the bushes. No, it wasn't my sister. For that he was releaved. She had asked if he new if he were hunting on land belonging to a pride. He did not care were he was hunting as long as he did not die of starvation. "Did you know I did not currently care?" he retorted. He was hungry and when he was hungry, he was irratable.
Like most faes, this lioness was smaller than he was. He threw the water buck over his shoulder and began to retrace his steps. He would not let anyone take away his food. He did not care what he had to do but if he did not eat soon, surely he would died from the heat and lack of food and water and the grief of not being able to save his sister...
Jafar
The lioness growled under her breath as the lion took down the meal. Then she gasped when she relized that it was her brother that had taken down the water buck. She rose from her crouching position and started out of the bushes but stopped. Another fae approached. From what was said, this too was pride land. She slunk back into the shadows.

An irritated look, one which was very unlike her, crossed Tari's face as the male walked away with no explanation. She was not used to such treatment at all, but that was not what caused her irritation. No--for Tari, the ever collected diplomat, it was his disregard for common manners that riled her. And if he thought she would just let him walk away after that, well, he was sadly mistaken.
The young girl bounded after him, overtaking the larger lion and blocking his path. Fixing the older one with a determined look, Tari's voice was calm despite her annoyance. It's called simple courtesy--something you should show, since you are a stranger here. Her tones were slightly clipped as she continued and in her focus on the male before her, Tari did not notice the other lioness who watched them. My mother is not one to deny others a place for food and rest, but respect is required from all who set foot here.
Keeping her stand in front of him, the tawny gold lioness waited for his reply--readying herself for what would probably be another rude statement. She may not like what was going on, and she may feel uncomfortable about it--the girl was only two years old and the idea of taking on a lone male was daunting to her--but her loyalty was always to her family and pride, and she would not let them down in any way.

Iago
He stopped in his tracks for the minature lioness stepped across his path. Courtesy? You go without eating as long as I have in this weather. He thought this but did not say this for her ears were precious. Besides, she might be a crybaby and go back to tell her pride. "Excuse me," he said in a high mocking tone. He did not explain for he felt like he did not need to, not to this cub. He moved to go around the youngen when he heard another lioness's voice...
Jafar
"He is hungry, as am I," she said in reply to the smaller one. "I take it you're the princess?" One of the other lionesses she ran into was quite rude and arrogant. The other just watched and wasn't the queen according to the other lioness. This one was arrogant in a way, but not because of age or wisdom. This one was young but stood up to a 'lone lion'.
The lioness eased out of her hiding place and trotted over to where her brother was standing. "Hello, Iago." She greeted him with what you could call a smile: She thought he was lost forever, never to be seen again. But apparently, she was wrong. They met up at again.

Scowling at his mocking tone, Tari's reply was cut short at the sound of another lioness speaking. She spun, taking in the other's words and watching her carefully. Immediately, the lioness made her way to the male, greeting him as one would a good friend. This whole meeting was beginning to mirror another encounter she had had in Beseni quite eerily, and Tari made a note to herself to keep an eye out for any other lions who wished to join this...conversation.
Composing herself and choosing to ignore the male's--who she now knew as Iago--remark, Tari turned her attention to the lioness, who at least had the sense to do something other than act like a complete buffoon. Remembering the woman's question, she bowed her head slightly out of greeting and respect before speaking herself. I am but the younger one--Tari. The title had...never meant much to her--certainly not as much as it meant to her older sister. And as I said, my mother would not deny food to those who need it. However, your friend is showing a blatant disregard for manners. Her gaze moved to Iago, at the moment really not caring what he thought of her. She knew she was the youngest here, but Beseni was hers to watch over and she would do what was needed. You will have to be on the brink of death before such a way of speaking is acceptable.
Although her mouth was set in a hard line and her body was tense, Tari's posture was in no way trying to be threatening. If she seemed arrogant, it as not intentional. Call it a reaction of the circumstances she had grown up in. With three males having claimed the Akina pride as theirs and then abandoning it, the lionesses had grown to be rather...protective of their home. And as for her insistence on being courteous to others--that particular quirk came partly from her upbringing and partly from an encounter with the Queen of another pride. In reality, she was really a rather easy going girl, and this meeting had only managed to rub against one of her pet peeves.

Jafar
Jafar lowered her head to the other before introducing herself. "Jafar." She nodded her head toward Iago."My brother, Iago." Jafar was quite suprised by his bluntness. "I can see that." It was she who usually isn't so diplomatic. Iago was usually the sweeter one. "If you please, let it slip this time." She eyed her brother. "It won't happen again, will it, Iago?" It was more of a statment, a retorical question. Now that they were together, she could keep an eye on him.
Iago Iago rolled his eyes and sighed. "Hello, Jafar. Blimey! You lower your head to this, trying to stop us from eating! You know what we've been through. This runt hasn't!" He turned on a point and began walking again. If he didn't eat soon, he would pass out and probably die in the heat. He did not care if he showed disrespect or not. He didn't not care if his own sister would stand up for him on this point or not, he would get a meal.

Tari's head tilted curiously as the lioness spoke, naming herself Jafar and calling Iago her brother. Upon hearing her request, she eyed the male for a moment before turning back to Jafar. It was...infinitely easier to get along with one who's every remark didn't seem to be a mockery. Simply because the lioness was not acting in the same way as her brother--and because Tari really wanted peace to be kept between the three--her golden headed nodded, though her eyes never left the two siblings. It will be looked over this time.
Black-lined lips pressed together as Iago spoke again, and choosing to ignore the title of 'runt' she had recently gained, Tari settled her cool gaze on him. For a quick moment, she looked him over, taking in his appearance as she hadn't before. While she had inherited her parents' own rich gold color, he was more of a darker brown with a short mane. She glanced toward Jafar, examining her as well and seeing that her pelt was more tan than brown. That didn't mean anything, of course. Tari's own sister had a darker gold coat, while hers had lightened over he course of her short life.
She spoke, her voice calm and yet with a slight accusing tone in it. If you are presuming to think that just because I am younger and have lived my life in a pride, I have not had my share of hardships, than you are mistaken. She left it at that, choosing not to delve into the past when she and her sister were still young cubs, dependent on their mother.

Jayvia padded through Beseni on another patrol. Her ears perked as she heard voices. She nearly snarled when she saw the lioness she had confront a few days ago. Her gaze softened as she saw Tari. The young lioness had always been a friend to the fae when she had joined her pride. Tari had only been a cub then and now she was an adult. Jayvia's ears perked as she heard the lioness's name. Jafar was her name. Jayvia stepped out of the long tan grasses, padding up to Tari's side. So we meet again, stranger, or should I say Jafar? Jayvia's eyes narrowed, but she wiped off her expression. Hello, Tari. Having a good day?

((Sorry for not posting in a while. I never told you my name... Did I?))
Jafar nodded in appreciation. "Thank you." At that, there was a rustle in the bushes. Out came the lioness she had encountered not long ago. Jayvia, she remembered, was her name. She had told her, but she did not care much for here. "Jayvia," was all that she said. A greeting of a sort. She said it in a monotone voice to show neither liking nor disliking, especially infront of one of high ranking. She nodded toward her brother. "Iago."

A single ear rotated to the side as she heard another being push its way through the brush and her eyes left the two siblings long enough to see who it was. Jayvia. A smile lit up Tari's face at the sight of the older lioness, but a question could be seen in her eyes as she greeted Jafar. So they had already met. And from the sound of it, the meeting hadn't been the greatest. Refraining from asking the question right away, the smile instead returned and Tari's head rubbed up against Jayvia's briefly in greeting. The lioness almost held the position of 'aunt' to her, considering she had been one of the few to spend time with Tari and Almira when they were cubs. She sincerely hoped nothing too awful had happened when Jayvia and Jafar had last spoken. It has been wonderful. A little irritating, in some aspects-- At this, her eyes fell on Iago, only to quickly slip away. --but still good.
Tari's gaze rested on the male again for a few moments, noticing he hadn't said anything. She wondered what he would be like when not under...mmm...stress, if you want to call it that. A barely heard sigh escaped her lips, before turning her attention to the two lionesses again. I take it you two have met before?

"O, very much so!" She replied with a smile. They're last meeting did not go well, at all. She wasn't very pleased to see the other again but she would keep her tounge in order to get what she wanted without any trouble. She was tired: She was hungry: She did not want drama. *** By the looks of things, Jafar and the other, new lioness had met before and did not get along. If his sister did not get along with someone, Iago would probably not get along with that someone either. Jafar introduced him to her, but not her to him but that didn't matter; he did not care who the other was. He wanted to eat. He took this time to slip away while the lionesses conversed. He sliped away and ate his share of food, leaving some for his sister, in a hidden spot. He found a nearby stream and tried to get as much blood off of him as he possible could. He silently slipped back into the group.

ooc: Hope quit, but another member has adopted Jayvia. I'll try to get a hold of her so she knows that there's a thread here waiting for a reply. If it takes too long, I'll just go ahead and reply.

Tari sighed at Jafar's words, catching something else in them despite the smile. But she said nothing, figuring that if whatever had happened wasn't awful enough to cause any fights now, then it hopefully wouldn't be worth arguing over. That didn't mean she wouldn't give her own sort of warning, even if it wasn't as blatantly obvious as her sister's would be. I hope everything will go smoothly while you are guests here.
Tail flicking a bit, the young lioness glanced away from the others for a minute, taking in the setting of the sun before turning back. It is getting late--you two might as well eat. An eyebrow arched very slightly when she noticed Iago no longer had his prey. I see you already have--but it is not as if I would have actually tried to take it from you. No matter what you may think of me, I am not an idiot. Her calm words halted. For a younger, small lioness such as herself, attempting to take an older male's dinner would have nearly been suicidal. And Tari had no death wish.
