They had claimed this land once, as long ago as it seemed. The vibrant grassy plains, interlaced with rivers and stream, beckoned all manner of creatures--a host of prey for any pride. But its wide landscape could not be held by the divided group's meager few, and eventually the Queen made the decision to abandon the basin once the horrid dry season took its affect. Beseni was a beautiful place though--not to mention strategically important--and now that the Akina were once more strong and growing, Lothril did not plan on wasting time in laying claim to the lands again.
The golden-toned lioness padded silently along a rain swollen stream, legs damp from her earlier crossing. She moved confidently, having never forgotten the paths that crisscrossed the landscape. Not once had the scent--stale or new--of another lion caught her attention, and the Queen was confident no other group had begun to call it their own. She halted, amber gaze dancing across the bright landscape, rounded ears twisting as she took in the surrounding sounds. The place was home--perhaps not as much as Kinamasi was, but still worthy of the title. There was no need to announce her presence, or her intention to call Beseni her own once more--it could be felt in the very atmosphere. To her delicate ears, the moist wind whispered of the Akina Queen's return as the grass brushed against her in greeting and the water soothed her paws. Life, despite its turbulent twists and turns, was returning to normal.
