Virgil stopped pacing and glanced up upon hearing movement, noticing that morning was upon them. With Bakar in tow, Ysega was walking away from the cave and the sight of the carnage. She understood the necessity of retreating, apparently. It was only her question though, that brought Virgil fully out of his brooding, and although hearing her voice did not startle him, the actual words did. Did she not just see the death he could deal so very quickly, without a moment's hesitation? Of course she did. And yet Ysega would still allow her son to be near him.
Shaking his head slightly at the lioness before him, Virgil carefully considered his options. On one hand, he really had no desire to go traveling across Africa with a stubborn lioness and her cub. Really, he had little need or inclination to travel with anyone. But....it may be prudent to do so. Although meeting her was not the catalyst for his recent...issues...they did seem to appear more often when he was around her and Bakar. However, joining them risked yet another embarrassing incident if he wasn't careful. He gave a sudden low growl, though it was much too low to be easily heard by others. Incidents such as that bout of pacing he just took part in. If that was not a sign of his agitated mind, then he did not know what was.
Aware that the silence between them was lengthening, he spoke deliberately, words rolling from his lips with apparent ease, though that was far from the current state of his mind. I will join you, for now. And we will see what the future brings, he added silently. Will I eventually discover what is haunting me and continue on with my journey? Measured strides took him toward the other two, and, with a lingering glance at Bakar, he passed them by to take the lead in their little group. Halting and looking back, his words held a touch of boredom in them. Come. It would not do to linger. Turning back, he continued forward without waiting to hear Ysega's opinion on where they would go. If she did not wish for Virgil to decide their destination, than she should not have invited him. In no way would he allow another even minimum control over his actions. Yes. I will. I must gain what I am looking for. To fail...to fail is unacceptable.
ooc: Oh boy. This going to be quite the little group, lol.
