Rules and General Information

Note: There are only two seasons in LoA, wet and dry. There is no winter, spring, summer, or fall. Seasons will not change at a set time, mostly because time is rather liquid on LoA.

1. Make sure you use correct grammar and spelling all the time. Not only does it make it easier to read, but it makes it easier to understand.

2. There is a 150 word limit on IC posts. There is a button in the row with 'Modify Post' and 'Preview' that says 'Word Count.' Simply hit that button and it will count how many words you have.

3. When you first join, you are only allowed three characters. However, if you keep your current characters in active play you will be able to create more. If you feel you are ready for another character please contact a staff member. We don't bite, so please don't be afraid to ask. ^^

4. There are three ways your character can join a pride.
-- Have a loner wander in a random land with the hope of him/her being recruited.
-- Create an IC post in a particular pride's land to increase the chances of the character being accepted into that pride.
-- Or you can simply contact one of the pride leaders and ask if your character can be part of the pride.

5. No powerplay, godmoding, or anything of the like.

6. If you are inactive for a month your account will be deleted.

7. And the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated. ;D

Breeding/Birthing/Aging Rules and Info

1. A lion/lioness must be two years old to breed.

2. Breeding and birthing can take place in any land and there is no season for either.

3. Do not be graphic. Really. Just don't do it.

4. Force breeding is not allowed.

5. After your lioness has mated, and if you want cubs, go to 'The Heirs of the Future' boards and follow the instructions there.

6. Cubs born in the dry season have a smaller chance of being healthy.

7. A pregnant lioness must go through at least one role-play before she can give birth.

8. Your characters may age as quickly or slowly as you want them to. Just don't take it to the extreme and have your character live forever. As a general guideline, your lions can age in the following manner: 1) Newborn 2) Cub 3) Juvenile (probably any age between 1 and 2) 4) Adult

Fighting Rules

1. Both genders may participate, but a female may not challenge a male for his position as leader, she can only challenge the female leader, just as a male cannot challenge a female for her position.

2. If the players have not agreed on who will win the fight, a staff member or myself will determine the winner based on RPing skill.

3. After the fight is over, all members of it will be awarded influence based on their RPing skills.

4. If you do not reply to a fight in four days, your lion/lioness will lose the fight.

5. If there is a fight between prides going on, at least one leader from each pride must reply every four days at the most. If you do not, your pride automatically loses the fight.

Character Creation

Please put your application on the main board of 'The Certified Living.' Accepted applicants will be moved to their sub-board by myself or a staff member.

1. No names from The Lion King. I love the movies, but I'm sure everyone is capable of making up their own.

2. Nothing unnatural (horns, wings, etc.)

3. Normalish colors only. However, once you have 300 influence points you may create a white lion. Every time you gain another 300 points, you may create another white lion.

4. Be sure to give your character an interesting personality and to follow it.

5. No ligers or anything of the sort. Only lions.

6. Wait for your character to be accepted by myself or a staff member before roleplaying.

[b]NAME[/b]: The name of the character.
[b]AGE[/b]: Their age in years.
[b]GENDER[/b]: Male or female.
[b]PRIDE[/b]: If they are in a pride, what pride, if none, put something to the effect of 'Loner'.
[b]RANK[/b]: If they are in a pride, what rank in that pride. If not in a pride, but something to the effect of 'N/a'.

[b]PERSONALITY[/b]: A brief, 200 or so word summary of what they act like, who they are. No perfectly wonderful people please, nor any perfectly dreary ones either. <3
[b]PROS[/b]: Three things that they do well, or that is good about them.
[b]CONS[/b]: Three things that they don't do well, or that isn't so good about them.
[b]LIKES[/b]: What do they like? Three or so things.
[b]DISLIKES[/b]: What don't they like? Again, three or so things.

[b]APPEARANCE[/b]: A 150 word or so summary of what they look like.
[b]EYE COLOR[/b]: Color of their eyes. One sentence or word should do it.
[b]COAT COLOR[/b]: Color of their coat. A sentence or a few words should do it. Please nothing like just 'Gold'. For the purposes of cub creation, make sure you say whether they are [i]dark, medium, or light[/i]. Ex: 'dark gold' or 'medium tan.'
[b]DISTINGUISHING ASPECTS[/b]: If they have a visible flaw or scar or limp or anything, say so.
[b]PHYSIC[/b]: Just a sentence or so describing their weight, body type, ect. This time, make sure you include what their overall body type is like: [i]large, medium, or small[/i].

[b]BREIF HISTORY[/b]: A 100 - 200 summary of their lives so far. Don't tell everything, be brief.
[b]PARENTS[/b]: The names of their parents.
[b]SIBLINGS[/b]: Names of their siblings.
[b]CHILDREN[/b]: Name of the children they have had.
[b]LOVER[/b]: The name of their current lover - mate.

Rulers and Land Claiming

1. As of right now, there are five active prides--the Alethea, the Akina, the Ari, the Sekayi, and the Yaizux. More can be created using Influence. Please see the thread 'Influence Effects' to learn more.

2. If you are not a ruler of one of these prides, you can not claim land.

3. To become a ruler, you must fight the current one, or send in an application if there is not one.
