Lavina padded up to what seemed like a never ending maze. She had followed the scent of a Gazelle into it and now she was stuck in the very beginning of it.She sniffed around and realized tha she had no idea of where she was.Upon deciding to go farther into the maze she kept sniffing for the easy prey that had wandered to far.She made another turn like the millions of others she had already taken and kept moving. She sniffed the air again and smelled the familiar smell of the gazelle that she had been chasing.Getting into the hunters crouch she crept forward. And there it was around the corner. She sprang and the lifeless creature had no chance. She dragged it to a crevice and started to devour it.She had didn't know that she was so hungry. She soon finished the animal and moved on,looking for the ever so important water source that she needed. She kept moving.
Lavina heard a trickle and turned another corner. There was the stream that she had been looking for.Running up to it,she started to drink. Now the only problem is finding a way out.She thought."Oh why did I come in here?"she asked herself aloud.

Large paws padded slowly across one of the wider paths in this 'maze,' as some called it. Truly, if you only spent a while here, remembering the way you came in, it wasn't that hard to navigate the maze. Of course, this was easier said than done, and even the large lion that walked its paths had found it hard to find his way through the maze at first.
But the smell of prey and the sound of a lioness made him raise the big head framed by a dark mane. He paused for a moment, listening, before trotting swiftly through the canyon. His mane was sometimes a burden, especially when hunting, but it was one that every male lion had to get used to. Now it tugged heavily at his neck as he jogged, just enough to get uncomfortable.
When he turned a corner he had become accustomed to turning, he found the lioness crouched by the stream. Ekwueme padded cautiously forward, knowing not all lionesses were happy to meet a strange male. He smiled at her, stopping a few yards away from her. Having heard her question that was meant for herself, he couldn't help replying to it for her. "I suspect you followed prey?" he offered. He lowered his head in a friendly gesture.

Lavina jerked up.She wan't expecting to meet anyone in this puzzle type thing."Yes.A gazzele."she relied. Then she stood up and took her first good look at the other lion and her surroundings. She was in a condemned looking box with a stream and some tufts of grass here and there. The other lion was a male.Big and powerful looking. He could not and easily as she had thought overtake her."WHo are you?"she asked him."I'm Lavina. The gazelle led me in here and now I'm lost.ANy idea how to get out of here?"she continued.
(Sorry for shortness.I have to go and can't finish.Might finish when I come back.Don't know.)

Ekwueme watched her every movement. She seemed to be friendly enough, willing to speak at least. He followed her eyes to their surroundings and then watched patiently as she turned her gaze back to him. He did not mind it; she was smart to be cautious of a lone male.
He chuckled at her little story. He knew that it was very easy to get lost in here following prey. He had been caught alone in this maze after following a prey animal in, just as she had. And though it had taken him a while, he had eventually found his way back out. However, he had chosen to stay and make a living off whatever animals decided to enter, and the stream that she was standing by.
"Many have followed prey into this place," he said, almost to himself, glancing around at the rock cliffs and ledges. It really wasn't a great place to get stuck, and many had died here. "Yes, I know a way out. My name is Ekwueme," he added, suddenly remembering her question. He turned slightly, and flicked an ear at her. "Come on, I'll show you how to get out."

Lavina got up and streched. Her surroundings seemed pretty harmless."Nice to meet you."she said as she finished stretching. Then she yawned."So you didn't tell me how you got in here."she said.then she lapped up a few more mouthfulls of water. She sniffed the air again.Padding up to Ekwueme she looked at the horizon. The sun was just starting to set,and she knew that if she was going to get out of here it would have to be soon. She eyed the male again."Should we get going now?"she asked cautiosly. She had been taken captive before, and not wanting it to happen again.SHe was taking her chances trusting this lion.A bird tweeted and she stared at it.Her stomach was growling again. The gazelle wouldn't have lasted much longer anyways.she thought. The bird wouldn't hold her and she couldn't see, hear,or smell any other food source around. She realized that the male had moved some more. After catching up with him , she purred."Thank you."and then she went quiet again.

Ekwueme flicked his tail. "Oh, I got in here the same way you did, I just chose to stay. I got used to being here, for there was no one to show me the way out." His words were sociable, though he hadn't been around another lion for a long time, other than bachelors like himself. He shook his head as a fly buzzed around him.
He padded forward, not the way she had come. Instead, he followed the stream. But soon a ledge appeared, and he veered toward it. He padded up the path that seemed too narrow for him to keep going on, until he reached the top. There, he turned and looked down at Lavina. When she'd caught up again, he turned and started trotting away, over the mostly flat part of the cliff. And then he turned left, were an unnoticeable parting in the wall made a sort of hallway. He started along this little alley. Every once in a while, he turned around to make sure she was still following.
There were many places that this parted into smaller pathways, but they all ended, whether it was a short distance, or a hundred feet from where you started. This was the only one that didn't end. He kept going until the path widened out, and then finally opened up to another stretch of cliff. He stopped for a moment, letting her catch up.
