Her steps were silent in the murky water of the marsh, her bodice hidden by the stalks and reeds that towered above her. She blend in perfectly, a shadow in the darkness, invisible it seemed, to the prey sitting silently on a rock ledge infront of her. Her tranquil yet severe gold and green eyes locked persistently on it's arched back, and to it's jugular. Her tail swooched in the reeds, tempting one to fall over on impact, but it caught onto anoter and saved her a meal.
She was crouched low, her chin just touching the top of the water, turning her soft white fur into an ugly shade of brown. Her sides heaved with excitement, yet she was absolutley quiet. At the last moment she sniffed the air around her, took a quick look around and made a leap for her prey, her hand legs pushing off in the slummy mud, slowing her down mid-spring. She came up only a few inches short, but the tricky little otter managed to get away, swimming in the few inches of disgusting water.
Cilan stood up, water droplets assembling again back in the marsh as she shook off, walking out of the wetlands to an area with a warm breeze. It was only her first day here and she had managed to wander to wherever she was. She was hungry. but not starved. She looked messy, but not unkempt. She was only just turning 3, but she was so small it seemed like she hadn't yet grown. She made a horrible attempt at a roar, focusing more on not biting her tounge from her excessive shivering. She wished to stay here if at all possible, so she began searching for the leader to ask permission.
