King: The lead male of the pride. He is the ruler and his word is law. Queen: The lead female and the king's mate. She is in charge when the king is absent, and has a deal of input into decisions the king will make. Her cubs will be princes and princesses. Princes: Male cubs of the king and queen. Princesses: Female cubs of the king and queen.
Beta: The second-in-charge male. He is trusted by the king, and is expected to defend the territory when the king is absent. If, for some reason, both royal's are absent he will take charge. Betan: This job is the same as that of the beta, and is the title of a female with such trust.
Gamma: In charge of the working ranks, the Gamma has a lot of responsibility, shared with the female counter-part. Gamman: In charge of the working ranks, the Gamman has a lot of responsibility, shared with the male counter-part.
Head warrior: In charge of the warriors, the head warrior must train and organise the warriors who may be needed for either attack or defense. Head hunter: In charge of the hunters, the head hunter must train and organise the hunters who catch the majority of the food the pride will need to survive.
Warriors: The 'army' of the pride. These strongs lions and lionesses may be called on to attack or defend, and are highly trained. Hunters: The hunters supply the majority of the food that the pride live on, and so must be talented in hunting if the pride wishes to survive. Nurse/Tutor: This lion or lioness is in charge of caring for cubs when the mother is not around. He, or she, must be good with cubs.
Patrollers: Potential warriors whom are learning the trade. They tread a thin line and, if they prove to be unworthy, will find themslves back down the rank structure again. Stalkers: Potential hunters whom are learning the trade. They tread a thin line and, if they prove to be unworthy, will find themslves back down the rank structure again. In training: Potential nurse/tutor. This lion or lioness must learn how to care for, and teach, cubs. They tread a thin line and, if they prove to be unworthy, will find themslves back down the rank structure again.
Subordinates: The average member of the pride. These lions and lionesses have yet to prove themselves, or their path has not yet been decided.
Cubs: The young of the pride. They are cherished, though below all in rank but omegas and guests.
Omegas: Lions and lionesses which have displeased those higher up the chain may find themselves as an omega. It takes a lot of work to gain back trust.
Guests: These are not official members of the pride, just guests who have requested to be able to remain for a while. They may decide to join the pride at any time.
