White Oaks is located deep in the Appalachian Mountains in the northeastern United States. It houses somewhere around 100 patients, all dressed in gray sweatsuits, who are treated for everything from eating disorders to drug abuse to schizophrenia and many other things. It all seems like a perfectly normal place – but what is ever the way it seems? It takes a good long look to see what is wrong here. The patients take advantage of understaffing to wander around at night, for errands from just seeing the place to things that are far less innocent. Patients can talk staff members into giving them forbidden items or substances – or use less gentle methods. It’s not a good thing that white oaks doesn’t just house anorexics and schizophrenics – it houses people who are only not in jail because of the insanity defense. It houses people who can get violent – very violent. And some staff members have secrets of their own - maybe even belonging in a sweatsuit marking them as a patient themselves. So who are you? A staff member, or patient? Hungry for power or just trying to do your job, whether that’s getting better or keeping a semblance of order? Come visit us at White Oaks, and please, enjoy your stay.
