Lothril padded softly into the land, heavy with her unborn cubs. She had been relaxing in the marsh, comfortable in the knowledge that Ibalo was watching over the lands, when an innate sense said her cubs were ready. Without wasting any time, not even to tell her king, she left to search out a suitable place to give birth. Time was of the essence, and her newborn cubs being caught out in the open could mean their death. Her golden optics now scanned the area carefully, yet quickly, before a bushy group of shrubs soon caught her eye. From the outside, she could tell no one would be able to see her in her vulnerable state. All that remained was to examine the inside.
She pushed past the leafy branches. The ground was soft and dry, and there was plenty of room for herself and the cubs. With a sigh, Lothril stretched out on the ground, resting her head on her paws. Her sides were already heaving as she settled in as comfortably as she could, preparing herself for the long hours ahead.

The queen panted softly as she turned to examine her three new cubs. A male and two females nestled close to her side, their small bodies pressed against the warmth of her body. All three were the same deep gold as their mother and father, although the youngest, the male, appeared to be darker. Happiness flooded Lothril's entire being and she could not wait to see Ibalo's eyes when he saw them. Indeed, she was very lucky to have a mate so devoted to his family and pride. With a contented sigh, she nuzzled her cubs, sweeping her large tongue over them. They would soon have to leave this place, but for now she just wished to be with her children.
