Ghinjo walked slowly back into the lands, her stride short but steady to accomidate for the much shorter legs of the two who followed behind her. She knew now there would be more danger; normally she would have allowed Valcon to watch them while she went out and hunted. Now however, they'd have to learn to be quiet and hide while she was out. Ghinjo had lost her other daughter to a hyena on the way back, and felt so morose that it was getting harder and harder to keep up a positive appearence for the cubs. Especially since Abidemi was already such a rough player and she found she easily snapped at him...not like that actually detered his playing. She kept up the pace until the white lioness was well within the pride's territory. There she found a large rock and slowly laid her tired body down in the sunlight. She stretched every muscle within her, and then lay on her side with her limbs stretched. Her cubs frolicked without much of a care around her. She rested her head on the ground, her senses still very alert to their whereabouts, but resting her mind for a while.
Abidemi followed his mother back into their home, his eyes wide with excitement. He knew that he was the king here, both of her and his itsy bitsy sister. He even went so far as to strut at one point. He wasn't cocky without reason; he was already big for his age and could easily tackle his sister. He bounded through the grass, weaving in and out of the tall strands. His body was readily camoflaged to give him the best chance of survival. He glanced behind him at one point, wondering where Kagiso had gotten off to. He gave it no second thought however, his mother had said nothing, and Kagiso had been a thorn in his side from the begining. Never willing to fight, always sitting in the corner by herself. Abidemi followed his mother up the rock; struggling to make the jumps that his mother covered in a single step. Seeing his sister with the same problem, he shifted his weight to bump her off back into the tall grass. Amused with himself, he wandered back up next to his mother. Leaping atop her and uttering a roar....it was nothing impressive by any means, but he was establishing his dominance over them both.
Nia followed along side her brother, not offering him the slightest glance, she simply mewed at her mother when she felt she could no longer keep up and her mother would slow down the pace a bit. She couldn't begin to understand why her mother insisted on rushing them back here. It wasn't anything special, she actually preferred the soft mosses at the birthing grounds to the pointy blades of savannah grass. Seeing her mother lie down, she tried to pull herself up onto the rock, but was knocked down by her brother and fell with a thud to the ground. She whined and grunted as she moved back to her feet, glaring at her brother with contempt as he roared in defiance of her. She climbed slowly, her head tilted downward to make sure her feet hit only steady points. Once she reached her mother's side, she curled up in a ball and pressed her face into her mother, too ticked at Abidemi to play at the moment. Instead she nosed her mothers side before beginning to nurse. Yes they were quite the disfunctional family...
