Angel padded through her territory. She was now the queen of the beautiful lands, and her mate was the King. Her cubs were just as important. All three of them were equal princesses and all would be treated the best when they got new members. She padded on, looking back she saw Harleigh chasing Brooke in a game of tag. There was no more worrying about be attacked out of the blue, but there was still a small chance.
She padded on, looking around a few times before she roared like never before. These were her and Hathor's land now, and anybody that trespassed would either be joining the pride or they would be chased out.She walked on, her big paws making prints in the mud. She looked up at the gray clouds and sighed. At least they had found a cave that the pride would stay in during the night.
She sighed as it began to rain. She licked Brooke's head as she passed, seeing she was covered in mud. She looked at Harleigh and saw that she was no cub anymore. She was now almost a year old. She was already showing signs of independence, not wanting help with hunting or anything. She then looked around for Keira and Hathor They must be exploring the other half of the land She thought.
Harleigh passed her, a paw print left in the mud. Angel stepped in it a realized it was much smaller then hers and Hathor. Soon it would be time for them to tell her that she was not really theirs. She sighed and walked on, the rain hitting her fur with force. She loved the rain, but not when it fell down this hard. She looked around for Hathor. She needed to talk to him about what to tell Harleigh, it was time for her to know.
She began to wonder if Harleigh simply ran off like Keira when she was little. That would mean that her parents still loved her. Angel shook her head. What if her and Hathor had taken Harleigh away from a better life then they had now. Or maybe it was a worst life then this? She didn't know what to think. Harleigh wouldn't remember what her parents were like, she was only about 3 weeks when they found her.
She shook her thoughts away and looked up at the sky, rain falling in her eyes, forcing her to look down at the ground. She looked at her paw print and watched as it filled with rain. She began to remember her past, it all flooding into her mind. It was the worst past she had even heard over, but she had to live through it.
She remembered being just a small cub and having to take care of herself while her mother tried to calm down her father. Her mother would come back with many scratches and without her father. Her father would come back days later and the same routine would go on. Until one day her mother never returned. She waited for days but her mother never showed. She began to follow her scent and a few day later found her dead in the soft grass.
Angel grieved for months, maybe longer then that. She was alone and tired, for she didn't sleep that often, afraid of being attacked. She found a pride but left it one day when they all never returned. She had lost so much and never wanted to be hurt so much again. So she rejected so many nice males, afraid they would hurt her. But then she met Hathor, something was different about him, she felt she could trust him. And now here she is today, as happy as ever.
Angel shook her head and she came back to her new territory. The smells rushed into her, making her forget all the bad memories. She sighed and looked at Brooke who was laying by a tree. She never wanted any of that to happen to any of her daughters. She then looked at Harleigh and prayed to herself that she would find the perfect male, that wouldn't hurt her, and would keep her safe always.
She then padded over to a near by tree and lie down, her fur soaking wet. She licked her paw once before setting her head on her paws. She kept her eyes open for any signs of someone wanting to join the pride. It was a very rainy day, and there were alot of lionesses out there without a home, and she didn't want them to end up like she did. In fact, they wouldn't end up like she did if they joined her and Hathor's pride.
