Abeni Abeni padded towards the tree of Okari. When she and Kalu had been appointed Governors for Oakri she'd been over the moon. Although she hadn't seen Kalu for a while she wasn't worrying. The cubs were fine and she was sure of that. For she was the one who'd told them to stay put in the disused fox burrow. Reaching the foot of the tree Abeni rubbed herself against it. Better safe than sorry. Taking a quick look around Abeni smiled. All was safe for another day. Taking a single step back Abeni bounded into the huge tree. Steadying herself the golden lioness studied her surroundings. She positively LOVED this spot. Kalu couldn't get up very well-only lionesses can get up because the branches would snap with a lion's weight. Creeping up a thick branch poking out from the right of the trunk. Keeping her belly low to the bark Abeni sighed. It was nice to just relax for once in a while. Settling herself on the branch as she lay upon it. Watching her long legs dangle down and her twitching tail that lay flat. Distracted by such stupidness Abeni shook her head and recovered quickly. She was tired...too tired but she could deal with that later. Yawning widely Abeni looked at the rolling Savannah hills. Relaxing slightly Abeni grinned. How she loved being alone! IC: Nadayshana walked around. Little rocks were kicked up everytime she stepped in a certain area. The nice ground under neath her. She stood there and let the wind blow through her face. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes. Shae started walkeing when she heard something. She looked around and saw a lioness. She didnt know who it was. She walked over slowly trying not to scare her or make her mad. She walked slowly and ready for anything. "Hi...." She said stopping a couple feet in front of her. "Im Nadayshana. You can call me Naday or Shana. What ever you prefer." She kind of stiddard with her words. She was a little scared. This was her first time living her life alone. She didnt really know what toem ecxpect. "I love this place. So quiet and peaceful... do you like it?" that was a stupid question sence the lioness had pretty much fallen asleep.

Abeni had almost drifted asleep when she heard voices. Well, not voices but a single voice. Opening a lazy eye she acknowledged the words. The first was obvious. Everyone said that or 'Hello'. Raising her head Abeni gripped the bark tightly. Rising herself up Abeni stretched out. The next words she knew well. Everyone she'd met had told her their name. Like a tradition... But why did this other lioness stutter while speaking? Must be scared...Why?
Speaking a few words Abeni prepared for lift off "Step back" she shouted before springing down from the tree. Regaining her balance Abeni smiled at the newcomer "Hello Naday. I'm Abeni, Governess of this borough of my pride" Looking her up and down Abeni spoke "Newcomer, eh? Looking for a pride are you?" She could do Asan a favour and let this lioness into her part of the pridelands. Waiting for the lioness ot reply Abeni yawned. God was she tired...

Shana looked at Abeni. "Yeah..." She swallowed. He claws were feeling the ground liek her mother used to do. "This is my first time on my own. Just trying to make some friends. " She felt more comfortable. With that she really didnt studder. She lookd at how Abeni was a a grown lioness and how shemust look ridiculous. Shana felt weird and sort of out of the way. She made a little chuckle and turned her head for a second "you a loser Shana" she said and looked back at Abeni.

The hot rays from the sun glinted off the light-colored lioness, heating her small body in a most annoying way. Her muzzle was slightly agape as she padded heavily through the area, her young mind cursing the dry season that the land was now now smack dab in the middle of. Moving her gaze from the cracked earth--where she watched her paws mechanically hit the ground--Asminia, for such was her name, caught sight of a great tree in the distance. Shade! The only thought that passed through her mind was that blessed word, and now spurred on by this new development, she urged her tired muscles to lengthen their stride .
Although normally light-footed, her weariness caused her footfalls to be much heavier as she sped across the land at a quick jog. Her pace soon slackened as she neared, however, as the forms of two other lionesses caught her eye. They seemed to waver slightly in the heat, and she blinked quickly, trying to dispel the blurriness. A pounding headache was swiftly coming to her attention, letting it's presence known as Asminia struggled to think clearly. Struggled, and failed. Her tongue felt thick and swollen, and she was dimly aware of a warning her mother had given her not long ago. Beware of the dry season, my daughter! Even the strongest lion can be struck down by the heat. And once again, Asminia's naivety and youth caused her to forget wise words--and now it looked as if she would pay for it.
With enough wits--or perhaps foolery--left to her, the lioness forced herself to stumble the last few yards toward the shade. The vague, yet desperate hope that the other two femmes would be kind always at the back of her mind. But the shadowy coolness barely registered as she took the last step beneath it. Asminia tripped, the weight of her body disturbing a small dust cloud as she fell to the ground. The headache increased to an unbearable level, and her blurry vision quickly faded to black.
ooc: Felt like it was time she found some trouble. *evil laughter* Oh and Sharli, think we could continue that thread in Shimo? ^_^ |
