|ooc| : Ever had a day when you totally spaced out? Voxxeh had one a few days ago and she posted an unfinished thread without putting 'not done' in bold at the bottom in the wrong land. Sorry. This was meant to be an unfinished claiming thread in Korongo, not a normal finished thread in Eihan.[/sub]
Say what you want
Mean what you say
Remember the darkest
Lights of that day
Be who you are
Do as you please
The truth is going to
Bring you to your knees
Mean what you say
Remember the darkest
Lights of that day
Be who you are
Do as you please
The truth is going to
Bring you to your knees
Just as he had made her remember him, made his words ring through her head...As did her words walk stealthily through his. They sneered at him through the walls he had sharply erected, pacing back and forth. Their faces were hers, feminine and yet curiously hardened and bitter. Pinched, drawn, and feral. Never to be tamed by his hand or any other. The hard image of a man caressing a flame entered his head, and the king recoiled from this mental attack. Not neccesarily troubled--you've yet to see him when he is troubled--there was an uncomfortable tickling at the pit of his stomach. The sort you get when anticipation begins to fade and disappointment, apprhension and bitterness sets in. Take a breath...Commanded his mind. He did. He took another. And another. It was working. His mind was redirecting the thoughts. " If you dub me Rhetoric, I name you Irrational... " Or something like that, right? Was he Irrational? No, that was the wrong word. His motives, or actions were always well thought through. He planned them for hours, or rather the writer did. She thought of them in the shower, as she brushed her teeth...They were in her mind as she got up, and when she prepared for bed. Not Truth, that toxin rarely invades the girl's fantasies. Reason, logic and consistency were things she valued. And so, naturally, Truth did as well. Maybe they were not the sort of logic or reason that other humans may allow to infect their being, but then again...Logic never had to be reasonable. And reason was not taught logic. Used together, they are strong forces. The girl uses ordinary reason and logic...But unlike some, she can make them into extraordinary reason and logic. If the fancy hits her. Generally after a good cup of tea. The spark enters her eye, and all of them stand down. They know this is not a battle they can win. But, I ramble. Enough of the girl, and more of Truth.[/blockquote]
The truth is that
That we all need
The truth is the end
Of a mystery
That we all need
The truth is the end
Of a mystery
A snap interrupted his thoughts, but he was not surprised by it. Nothing seemed to surprise him anymore. Storm gray eyes peered down at it disdainfully, just a stick. A twig that was so much like the one he had crushed, accidentally on-purpose, to alert Narati to his prescence. It seemed so long ago...Was it only two years ago? Now, here was proof he still had feeling in his mind. A ripple of shock went through him. He was six years old, just today. Looking up at the sun, which was dimmed and cold behind clouds, the kind gave a ghostly smile. It was at this time, six years ago, that he had come into existence. Along with Hathor, Serenity and Diligence; his brother and two sisters. The next litter had yielded Sileree and Dancer, the once inseparable twins, and Belligerence. Their other sister was lost somewhere, she had been called Lotus, but now went by Sutol.{pronounced 'Subtle', which in my opinion is ironic} They heard she was well, and she had married well. Some king or other. But it was nasty inbreeding. The king had been Subtle's great-uncle, he thought. Stepping carefully off of the snapped piece of matter, he flexed his claws thoughtfully. He had been but four years old when he met Narati. Young and foolish...Compared to his 'venerable' self now. A laugh was close to his lips, but it would take too much effort and he didn't really see the point of forcing it out. It was like speaking the obvious. It should never be done unless one needed to extend a conversation, break an uncomfortable silence, flirt stupidly, or they felt a great welling of nervousness. The lion was neither of these, he was simply...Empty. But that was nothing new. " It has already been established that you are not Irrational, you merely appear to operate in such a way. Why do you dwell on her so? She is of little to no importance... " But that was a lie.[/blockquote]

The mindless walking began again. Slow, measured and accompanied by the ripple of muscles was his stride. It was long, longer than most other lions. For a male that was that empty of emotion, he appeared very proud. Although his head was held as most lions [low, as if he was on his last legs], his posture and attitude was that of royalty. It was commanding. The stance said 'I have arrived'. The others around him could feel it, even the sand stood still under his paws. It was...Unnatural. Or was that simply because he was an expert at manuevering the dunes of his homeland, the east? It may have been the latter, but to a stranger's eyes it looked suspicious. Mouth slightly agape as he moved in his own way, the slightly yellowed teeth glinted in the sun. This was fine, a nice place for him. Throwing his head back, he took in as much breath as possible in his massive lungs and bellowed. A ground-shaking roar ripped itself painfully from his voicebox, deep and gravelly. It reverberated around the maze, almost lonely. He knew he would not be able to call again without a sharp pain in his throat for a few hours, but that was fine. This was his now, until someone decided they wanted to challenge it. And that thought made his happy and a little tired. gazing around at the canyon, he smiled. It was nice, to have the feeling you were lost in a place you owned. It gave you the sense of powerlessness, that although unpleasant made you feel safe. At least it did to him. It was as if Korongo was looking after him, keeping him safe from the rest of the wild world. Of course, there were stampedes, but he wasn't an idiot and could deal with it. The sky had grown a little lighter, but it remained determinedly dark and gloomy.[/blockquote]
The truth is out there

The truth is out there
Out there in the rain
Say what you want
But you better believe
The truth is a goal
We all must achieve

His love of the twilight period had not lessened since his confession that it was his favorite time of day, and here was the perfect spot. Even though it was Korongo, the maze of death, it was still coolest at this time. One of the many crags that surrounded the winding paths of the place was hanging out particularly far. It invited shade to it, and it seemed to be less dusty than the rest of the territory. Padding over elegantly, the lion flopped himself down carelessly. Dust rose from the ground, and from his less than immaculate pelt. His mane, bushy and dark bronze, shaded his gray eyes and they peeked peevishly from under his heavy brows. The sky was as dark as the windows he gazed through, and as the heavens opened, the blinds closed to the outside world. Staring through his lids, he seemed to smirk at the world. He was in one of his truthful moods, and it made him happy. It made everybody else cringe for fear of judegement, but he was at peace. What would he do with this new land? There were...Many things he had in mind. Like all the great conquerers, he always had a plan when taking over a land. But, the singular difference was that Truth usually had the best interests of everybody in mind. Which was what weighed down his heart so much. Now though, he was light and free. Asaki...Her face popped into his face, and a small growl entered the air. Tongue stuck out and licked his nose in agitation. The moment was not ruined, yet. His mind turned back to his plans, and he chuckled at the brilliance of it. Hurt lingered behind him, sulking as usual. It stalked off angrily, haughty and impatient for attention. All the things truth wasn't...[/blockquote]
