Rayen sits motionless in the jungles of Misitu trying to keep cool. She lets her small rounded ears swivel around her proud head, taking in the many unimportant sounds around her. She is small but muscled, clearly underfed. She slowly retracts her claws on feet that seem too large for her body, yes she should be much bigger then she is. Partly because she has been alone since she was very young and partly because she's not a very good hunter, anyway, she doesn't eat much. Sure she can hunt, she can stalk, and she can kill but really she doesn't have the patience for it. She darts her brown eyes through the varying shades of jungle foliage, she attempts to remain alert but her mind starts to wander. She's not sure where she is, but one burning fact is true, she parts the black outline of her lips. She speaks slowly and quietly, though it seems magnified in the routine silence around her. "I'm just tired of being alone."

ASAKi THE TRAGiC LETS TRY LiViNG TODAY LiKE iT WASNT A MiSTAKE “Then go find someone… so you won’t be alone.” A voice replied with such fatal ease. Chill and precise and well spoken. Lacking emotion but making up for it with mild confidence and general curiosity. General curiosity indeed as a tail flicked and a slender body rocked. To the left, to the right, ribs gently traced her hide as her hauntingly light yellow eyes caught light and shown. Reflecting such light back, she did, in this darken forest of mythical creatures and horrific beasts. She was never quite partial to the jungle, but never exactly against it either. She supposed it was a fine enough thing but she… couldn’t see the point of being here if one was hungry or needed food. Yes, there was abundant prey but… Makes about as much sense as swamp cats. Her mind purred with venom. Venom she kept in check only because of slight curiosity. She wondered if Her Majesty still counted her among the felines who played in the mud. A normal one of royalty would expel one from the ranks if they left as abruptly as she did and for as long as she did, too. And yet… there was a possibility she wasn’t ‘rogue’ and that she was part of that clan, still… a small possibility but the concept was a taunting one, no? … Taunting by good means and bad. Odd it would be if the Queen still had faith. Most wouldn’t.
She was making her way across the lands. Boredom striking her down here and there but all in all she was on neutral ground. Mild and easy-tempered she was feeling… nothing worth noting. Other then mild curiosity, as spoken before, for simply general things. General things such as women who were impeccably weak and who threw themselves to the feat of a man. Who would trade, easily, freedom for bondage and… who could easily trust others and put faith in them. Foolish was the name one could dub many, many, oh so many people. And despite the fact it shouldn’t, it never ceased to surprise her how a girl could meet a boy and two days later they were courted [for marriage was not the correct word] and how two days after that, they mated… and how two days after that the man left, two days after that the girl was back at it again. Falling in love, stumbling on the first guy she met and then from there the romance, the children - before long the girl had quite a little grouping of children. Unless she abandoned them or killed them or allowed nature to run it’s course without motherly intervention. Which some did. And simply lied that they didn’t. But it didn’t matter. Wasn’t like anyone found out about that dark, dark little secret.
Dark, dark little secret she sadly knew and wasn’t fond of knowing. Mhmm. Not fond of knowing but the fact she knew was enough. The same was she knew about how weak everyone acted, and truly was, and how… idiotic, as well. Annoyingly idiotic, annoyingly, annoyingly, annoyingly… how it gnawed at her and riled her. People wonder why she didn’t came much patience or tolerance? There was a good reason. Oh, honey, very good reason! People preach to her and in the end they are really the ones with these ‘issues’ that need to be ‘resolved’. Damn it. Wonder why she was constantly in an irritable mood… “Or, of course sitting around in the dark waiting for your night in shining armor works to, I guess.” She added with the same voice, a thin and lengthy body caught by light and shadows until finally she came closer to today’s victim of her ramblings and took a seat. She wasn’t close at all, but not that far away as she introduced a lean, powerful body to a reserved, conserved sit. Her tail limp at her side and her ears at a common position. Skull was turned in the direction of the opposing girlie, her eyes ever piercing and ever viciously cold and un-giving remaining concentrated on who she had spoken to. She waited a reply, quite certain she would be given one, and the expression and result such words… And, for those who were wondering why she was here and chatting absently to someone? Well, namely because of Truth. She liked proving people wrong, stupid, pathetic. And she figured the more time she spent with others the less time he could find her, after all as far as he knew she was… one of those who stayed on their own. All the time. Right?
Out of Juice; xP Aww, ya don’t have to do that. I usually can tell when a thread is public but, sometimes I dunnos so… I figures I should ask first. ;3 [/blockquote] iF ONLY TO BE ABLE TO SAY WE TRiED AND iT JUST COULDNT WORK ASAKi THE COLD

Rayen watched the new lioness with curiosity of her own. She remained still concentrating on what the other was doing, "Then go find someone...so you won't be so alone." Rayen did not reply. It wasn't the friendliest of words, possibly because it didn't come from the friendliest of cats. So she considered her response. She smiled lightly as the other came closer and spoke again, so she listened. A knight in shining armor, huh? Maybe Rayen was too trusting, in all her four years of life she'd never been hurt emotionally by any other cat. Maybe because she didn't interact with others enough or as she decided to believe, everyone has good inside them...how they let it come out is the only difference. This cat seemed wise...or just angry. Rayen spoke calmly, toning down the usual cheer in her voice, in attempt to sound defensive. "I didn't know you were listening, she said coolly, admitting she had been talking to herself "what's so bad about a knight in shining armor?" Better then being alone. she thought indignantly.

ASAKi THE TRAGiC LETS TRY LiViNG TODAY LiKE iT WASNT A MiSTAKE She never was nice. Even in her younger days she was still a sour tart, ever edgy and ever quick to think and run off at the mouth. Only in her later days did the chilling winds and blocks of ice come into place… and formality be one of the words that described her so keenly. Another for the Masquerade, she was. Putting on an elegant gown and taking a Venetian mask, ever beautiful and ever alluring from it‘s placing and putting it on. Hiding a corpse it was, that mask, that gown. Dressed in elegance and beauty while inwardly she drowned in the high seas of emotions, thought, concept, confusion… and hate. But… drowning was in everyone’s nature. A piece of everyone was drowning… it only chanced that a larger piece of her was drowning and… wasn’t… interested in taking the hands of others so she could pull herself up out of those depths. As hell deserved it‘s demons… Her sea deserved her drowning. Not that it mattered or even concerned this conversation. Which, she might actually enjoy. She noted the other‘s first set of voiced lyrics and offered her own to match. “Have faith that… no matter what you say and where you say it, someone is bound to hear.” Advice, it was, somewhat as good as the ‘someone is always watching’, that death-givers said to one another constantly and a fact everyone knew. But…
One would think being alone as Rayen was, so often or so her words and voice made it seem… she would understand the penalties of trusting. Would be slow to trust because she was on shaky ground when it came to meeting and conversing with others. If she had been alone for a long time, and was still living however meagerly… Asaki supposed she could understand while the little girl wanted her hero. But at the same time she wondered if the other knew the… satisfaction of being self-reliant and able to stand on one’s own. That hero won’t always be there. That hero won’t always do his job. What’s so bad about a knight in shinning armor? He tended to be nothing more then a fat guy in a tin can. “Other then the fact it‘s terribly pathetic?” She inquired. Her voice carried an edge, even more so since the other seemed to side on the position of that knight. But… everyone was entitled to their own opinion and it just happened that Asaki was very assertive about hers. “Doesn’t it… bother you that you want to be saved? That you have to have someone else save you? Doesn’t it bother you that you’re… so reliant on that hero coming that you don’t bother learning to save yourself? The knight won’t always be there. Life’s not a fairytale. Happy endings… aren’t always happy.” That Knight may turn to be someone all the more crueler. That knight could be just… a shitty excuse. Asaki hated the sheer concept that she, or any other woman, needed ‘saving’. Damn asshole of a knight. Good way to ruffle her feathers. Some guy acting like she was so weak and feeble that she couldn’t even handle herself. Thank the heavens she had yet to experience that. She’d surely snap.
Maybe she should have a bumper sticker on her forehead and butt. One of those ‘CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE’, ones? Maybe then others would really get the picture that she wasn’t patient, tolerant, and that some things could easily tick her off and when she was ticked off it was like a bomb going off. And you can expect more then a few city blocks leaving the face of the earth. And then, when one thought of it she had so many conditions that surrounded her. So many ‘under this’ and ‘only because of that’. Her mind was a minefield, hard to navigate because one never knew where the next hidden explosive will be. And with their going off all around you and you see the mangled body of others who failed? Makes one all the more nervous, no? All the more nervous but you still have these confident, cocky little things who think they can do it. Little do they know she’s spiteful as all get out and even twists herself so they fail and she is satisfied that they have been broken to the extent they won’t pop back up and continue their task. Gawd… maybe, despite the fact she detested little girls who gripped these fabled ‘knights’, maybe she should be thankfully they are there? After all they take care of the many ‘knights’ or the ones romping around as knights. To the extent that, happily, she doesn’t see knights too often. Becoming scarce they are, tamed by the princess’ in the dragon’s lair. More nasty creature, mean and hateful. Those she could deal with. Why? They didn’t give a damn about her, and they didn’t pretend to. They were absorbed with themselves and what they were going to do and how they were going to live. She… was no one in their eyes and, my, my, my it was… bliss. She didn’t want to be anyone, and to them she was no one. They gave her what she wanted. She had been someone once. She didn’t like it. “But that’s my opinion… and you never did answer my question. If you don’t want to be alone, why not go off and find someone, so you aren’t? Why not take matters in your own hands and act? It‘d be much faster. Or are you a bit of a romantic? Like the concept of being saved?” She lacked true viciousness, talking about romance. Mhmm… surprisingly she was a bit of romantic herself, enjoying seeing it in play and acted but she… really didn’t participate so much. Out of that ‘stage’, really. Love… and being loved wasn’t… on the agenda anymore.

Rayen sat, she allowed her tail to twitch slightly behind her. She knew she was on the losing end of this battle. Maybe the other was right, waiting for this so called knight was pathetic. It was a waste of time, and true the chances of ever finding a brute that was sincere was one in a million. "But if I'm not waiting for that knight, then what else do I have?" she spoke quietly. She was easily defeated by the others cold words. She had very quickly made everything Rayen stood for seem ridiculous even to Rayen herself. Rayen didn't have much in life and all she could hold on to was that dream, of some sort of happiness. And in short what is happiness other then love? Love for a mate, love for a cub, a pride, a home...none of which Rayen had ever had. Yet somehow, she'd never known any other happiness. "And, fine...I'm scared. Scared of rejection. That's why I'm waiting here." Good enough? Yes, pathetic but Rayen lived in her own world of dreams and hopes...so far it had carried her a long way on her own. It's the only way she ever knew...truly what other way is there? She shifted her weight slowly, she was steadily becoming more uneasy.

ASAKi THE TRAGiC LETS TRY LiViNG TODAY LiKE iT WASNT A MiSTAKE Yeah. Love is happiness. Love is everything. Hell, love makes the world go round, doesn’t it? Another thing that annoyed her… yet at the same time one of those things that managed to get in a sucker punch. It was terribly sad… that everyone thought love… was everything. That they thought getting a mate, having children, joining a pride… was all they were meant to do. All that was suppose to happen. All that should be done to make them happy. It was sad that everyone thought that, sadder yet that everyone taught that to the next generation and the next. It was sad yet somewhat disturbing. In this world that was, what each and every lions destiny, duty was. For the lioness it was to carry the children of the King. For the lion it is to sleep with as many women as possible. It seemed… the ‘goal’ of each generation was just to provide a ‘next generation’ and not even bother to improve it anymore. To make it better, wiser, greater. But, she supposed it got pointless? No end in sight, no ‘achievement’ other then beating one’s parents to the mark… And the higher one climbs the longer the fall will be, right? “Who am I to tell you what to wait for?” She replied.
Asaki was thinking, however mildly she was seeing the fault in this one. And what fault was that? Too reliant on others. Yes, perhaps not everyone should be such a bitch as Asaki Rhetoric, but surely every creature should have confidence and self-presence. Every creature should act on their own, or at least be capable and willing. The other should not wait on others… or act in a way that made outsiders think she was waiting because she could do nothing else. The other should not act as if she was a child… needing to be told what to do and pointed in the direction to go. If the other had desires, which every creature has, then she should try to gain those desires. Which was a good way to be led to sin but… really if one didn’t have a morose and wicked mind to begin with then there would be no immoral desires to obtain…? Just another thought that was thrown out there as our darling listened to the other. A frown working it’s way onto placid, yet rigid features. Another fault of this one is she was easily… ‘intimidated’, scared off what was hers. Hers’ was the right to believe whatever the hell she wanted. Hers’ was the right to argue and complain and use that heaven-given mouth however the darling wanted. Mhmm… or maybe… it wasn’t a fault. Perhaps the other just wasn’t confrontational and knew the pains of having a spine. After all if you have a spine it can be broken, no? Yes.
Nonetheless our darling here, ever conflicting and ever lacking in the sympathy department slightly shook her head. Her eyes wandering elsewhere as the other spoke her second bout. A frown still on her features, curving her black lips hell ward as her yellow gaze picked out the details of this heavily jungle area. Weird place, it was, easy to get lost and easy to get hot in. Aye, it was damp and cool but the humidity… “You shouldn’t… tell a stranger what your scared of, now should you?” She felt like a schoolmaster reprimanding a student. A very odd feeling but one nonetheless that seemed it fit. Pondering she did if the other was what she appeared or deeper and much more… manipulative on a different level. After all if she was so quick to open up and spill the beans our darling wondered how she managed to make it all those years alone. Because… strangers do take advantage of strangers and that was a fact. Asaki Rhetoric wasn’t ‘new’ to manipulation and setting another to her plans… But, really now… This other seemed to know where the ‘self-destruct’ is without any help, yah?

She watched the cat in front of her, intensely. Rayen liked waiting to be saved, it was easier. Dreamier, an excuse...so many things that were so important to her. She let her thoughts scrambled as she considered her next action. Why was the other so demanding, incriminating even? She lifted her ears to the sound of the other's voice, what difference did it make? Rayen only knew strangers...and she was very open, she didn't have much to hide. Embarrassment the emotion she ignored best. "Maybe I shouldn't..." she answered thoughtfully, it was a suggestion at least, though she would most definately pay it no heed. " So you know plenty about me, why are you in the forest? Don't you have some place better to be? You seem awful wise of the world..." she said. She had meant to sound bitter but ended up with a blatant touch of curiousity to each word.

ASAKi THE TRAGiC LETS TRY LiViNG TODAY LiKE iT WASNT A MiSTAKE Easier? Easier. Again one couldn’t find a better word then ‘pathetic’ to describe it. An excuse for laziness and lacking desire to ‘be’. The other wanted a protector, a knight in shinning armor to save her from the big bad world? Shelter… safety… someone to make those hard decisions for her. Why did she shy from being her own person? Of acting on her own, of being her own guard? Why did she need someone else to do it for her, why did she want that? Asaki was demanding because that was the perfect way to get what she wanted. She wanted answers, she wasn’t going to say ‘please’. Dominance, submission. Two words that go with ever action. She had wasted enough time and did things to twiddle it away… by now she knew what questions to ask and what ones she wanted an answer to. And when one knew that, one lost patience and tolerance [two things she had little of in nearly every situation] to play ring around the roses to get a reply. And when one knew that, one also knew the more time one had to think about the question the more time one had to figure a lie. Plenty? I wouldn’t say plenty. Unless you are outstandingly shallow? Enough so that one can read the first few pages of your book and find all that ever was and is? Vicious bite to vicious words. Words left unspoken… They weren’t necessary.
“So eager to get rid of me, dalh?” She inquired, her voice taking on a different light. One of mild amusement as her black lips turned to a smirk that didn’t touch her eyes. Words were still spoken with professional pronunciation and a smooth, if not chillingly precise and exact, way. The bitterness should be left to those who were bitter… or someone could get the wrong idea about a perfectly happy-go-lucky gal… such as the opposing. Not that it kept away the mild amusement that was portrayed freely. It was good she hadn’t lost her poison, after all it seemed the other wanted her far and away already and only formality [or was it formality?] held her to her spot and that was only just but. “Wisdom…” A word that brought about amusement also as she tilted her head forward and stifled a laugh. Wise? Her? Oh, many could find that humorous and she herself did as well. Even Valid did, seeing as how the dearest Truth had thought her lacking in such department. And yet, finish her statement that had begun she did not, moving on the contrary to other things… “Better place? A better place for me to be would be Hell, but I am afraid the gates are closed to me at the moment and thus…” She tilted her head and shrugged her shoulders, her smiles and grins fading as she became a rather somber creatures once more, her eyes flickering back to her subject with but a placid expression… Even if cruelty and coldness, bitterness and viciousness lurked within the depths of her hauntingly light yellow eyes. She thought the other pathetic because of her beliefs but Asaki would not say that… She would say the beliefs were pathetic but not the other, herself. Asaki the Cold, Asaki the Rhetoric, had no right to call anyone… pathetic. “No.” She finished, then added, “Anything else, dalh?” Or had her curiosity been extinguished?

So, Rayen had asked her own questions and was happy to not be the one 'in the hot seat' as the expression goes. Though the other answered so casually that no, Rayen did not feel better at all. She had tried to turn from the questioned to the questioner, but in truth the other was more skilled in asking questions that took time and thought to answer leaving the questioned feeling vulnerable and unsure about their own response or at least that was the effect she had on Rayen. So Rayen found herself defending her actions again. "Yes, by wisdom I only meant that you seem to have your life...personality even, quite figured out while my own is quite subject to change." She didn't necessarily want to be rid of her companion, Rayen even found herself enjoying the conversation despite the uncomfortable subject of Rayen's pathetic-ness. She should be at the Gates of Hell? What she had meant by that, Rayen couldn't say and didn't say anything to address that response.

ASAKi THE TRAGiC LETS TRY LiViNG TODAY LiKE iT WASNT A MiSTAKE She felt vulnerable and unsure? Why? They were but two strangers and neither knew the other… what the other went through, who the other was, and what the other was capable of. In such an encounter it was essential to look strong, be strong, and to be so convincing that no one could call the bluff, if it was even a bluff, this appearance of ‘hardness’ and ‘intimidation’. The victim always chooses to be the sufferer. If the victim so chooses, he or she doesn’t… have to be the victim. Yes, one may feel uneasy but… that is not the problem. The problem is revealing such, revealing that you feel insecure and weak. If you act strong, despite the fact you may not feel it…? It may backfire but at least ya gotta chance. A chance, oh how people fight for those. How they fight, strive, argue for it. Just a chance, that’s all the masses are asking. Just. A. Chance. And truth be known, this chance encounter… it wasn’t making Asaki feel any the more superior. It was making her feel pity. If only somewhat so and if only in the way that it was not strong enough to be shown and expressed. She pitied the other because the other was hell bent to lay down her arms and give up a fight that hadn’t even begun. Press the opposing a little and she falls apart. It was sad, it was pitiable. It made her want to get up and shake and beat the other to a bloody pulse. If only to ruin her pretty little face, her pretty little body, her pretty little attitude until the beast, the fight, the spirit, that thing within her that was the basis of some sort of spine whipped, shaped, formed up to resist… to fight back, to ruin back, to…
Useless. The other was how the other was and, why should she give a damn? The other was not blood and even then, if she was, oh since when did that matter to Asaki? Since when did family matter? Yet perhaps the fact the other was a woman, and the fact that Asaki could just get so angry over such little things. Perhaps that’s why it nagged her and because, despite the fact she shouldn’t care, she was aggravated and agitated. Enough so that it should now and again if only for fleeting seconds. Master of the Disguise was no lie… no lie, no lie… no lie… “You feel a need to correct yourself…?” She pondered it for a moment as her eyes settled elsewhere. Mulling over the concept but a few moments before her eyes returned to the opposing damsel. Obvious in her eyes, however denying true emotion, was a message. A message that went along the lines of mild… notation. The other felt the need, even if she really didn’t need to. Her correction had disrupted the flow of the conversation and was not required at all. Not required for it changed nothing. She had… control but not necessarily wisdom. If she had wisdom she would be able to understand herself and what she truly wanted, and why she felt the way she felt and why… why… She could understand ‘why’, if she was wise. She could understand ‘why’ just meant ‘because’ and she could let go, if she was wise. But she was not, as others were so clever to point out. “There is a King who could be your Hero. He is… a soul lost…” She was thinking well on her words, for her tongue she didn’t trust. Sir Irrational was a hard puzzle, one ever… perplexing and leaving her so with mixed thoughts and positions and emotions. “But he should suit you just as well, heavenly lily. Now this may go against your code of sitting around waiting but…” She looked the other woman up and down with slow, insightful eyes. Landing back on her eyes again with the tilt of the head in a matter of fact way. Confidence was what the other needed… Unquestionably. “I’m sure he’d love to have you.” [/blockquote] iF ONLY TO BE ABLE TO SAY WE TRiED AND iT JUST COULDNT WORK ASAKi THE COLD
