A Wanderer

Taviera moved slowly across the plains of Poriuma. She was dashing through the undergrowth and avoiding the trees. She paused, her small round ears forward listening for sound. She was looking for a place to live. She was bored with rogue life and wanted the interaction of comrades. She wasn't sure if she had come to the right pride but she knew she was in pridelands. She had every right to be cautious but growing excitement was what made her heart race for now. The sun had just risen but an hour ago and thank heavens it wasn't raining, yet. Tavi looked forward to the rains as most did but she grew weary of being soaked and relished in the chance to be nice and dry, if just for the first few hours of the day.
Up ahead she noticed a clearing in the undergrowth and she made her way toward it cautiously.She broke into it with a slight trot and stopped only a few paces in. Light blue eyes darted across the open area, she was alone for now. She lowered to her haunches and waited. She considered letting forth a low roar but didn't want to seem threatening. She was prepared to wait until somebody noticed her on their own. She listened for a few minutes more before lowering herself to her stomach. She crossed her front paws and layed her head upon them. Rounded ears stayed alert atop her head while she waited and her eyes seemed to dance as she tried to calmly watch everything around her.

What did we have here? Another possible member? Things were going well for him and his family now. They had more pride members than ever before, and they were happy. Reasonably so, anyway.

Hathor said brightly. It astonished him, but a friendly, lopsided grin spread across his features. As hard as he tried to compose himself, he couldn't keep the merriment from his broad face. He was happy, needless to say. Happier than he had been in a while, and seeing a possible new member on his land made him even more joyous.
