THe WAY iT WAS Some would say that there is great power in that which is concealed. If we take that particular statement to be true, or in most ways correct, then the lands we are describing are of the highest caliber in that sense. Ignored by the Humans, and generally treated with indifference by the greater Beasts of these places, the Scrublands are bare of pretense. Hidden away, yet in perfectly plain sight, they were regarded with some apprehension in the time Before. The Elephants migrated, the Warthogs passed it over, and the Gazelles favored the savannah to this 'waste'. Hmmm...But it has its virtues. The Sun seems to smile down on it in the Dry, and the Moon in the Wet. A volatie country, and not one to be traversed lightly, the air is generally warm and temperate, yet dry and mildly arid. It has the feel of a place that contains a mystery about it, although that may be because of its simple unremarkable nature on the outside. The People tended to avoid it because of this, but they always overexaggerated things and made it sound as if a greater power ruled, didn't they? Didn't they... THeN AND THeRE After the years went by, all those long years of neglect, a new power came to hand. New life, flourished; new ruled, established. The Scrublands, were known as the Wastes no more. Something from the East had come, a different kind of hierarchy. A different kind of rule. The Scrublands had been claimed, they had, and by one from a long ways away from this place. The East had been claimed by the Far East, yes? All the way from the great sea he had come, and with him he had brought a calm to the winds, a silence to the screams of the Dry season. Hmmm...The Truth had at last settled, decided to bring his usual sort of vague perception to the land. It would be as it always had been. Kindness might have been weakness, but none could deny that he had the power of gathering. Although by no means the largest, his following was great, and his subjects loyal. His speech was heard from one mountain to the other, and they shook at his words. They came to him, and one in particular came to him, the Lady who would not Be. Then the Man who brought the Silence appeared, and it would seem his rule had been flouted. But...It was not so. The children were healthy, in their own way, but unstable. One, had a complex; Another, had no sight, and few wits; The third was shattered, perhaps forever, by what had been done. He kepts them, perhaps because he had always wanted some of his own, and he watched them. But his eyes could not follow them forever, and they parted. The Prince, to the South; The Princess, to the clutches of Death; and the Lady, to the wandering lands, lost in her own mind. HeRE AND NOW Bud, blossom, wither, repeat. The flowers had returned to this land. They had left, they had been split, and it would seem that their spirit was broken. But from the old life, there were new seeds sown, and it would seem, that they had returned. The legend has yet to be written, it would seem. Indeed, it would. Let us proceed, ladies and gentlemen, let us proceed, by all means, and see what the Alethea have in store for us. The Lord of the Far East was not troubled by the lack of water. In the East, desert stretched as far as the eye could see, only relieved by the Sea which his father had governed. Others were not so fortunate, and left the Alethea in search of moisture. With the Wet season approaching, the King has reformed the shrivelled Pride and hopes that his loyal subjects will return.

THe PRiNCiPLeS I. Above all, trust and respect of the King and loyalty to the King is requested. Without complete faith in his decisions, rumors and lies will be rampant and the Pride will crumble. United must all those in the Kingdom stand, with strength, honor, responsibility and acceptance as the virtues searched for in subjects. Loyalty to one's fellows comes second. A direct order from the King to share information that is to be considered confidential between Pride members must not be ignored. Furthermore, a Pride with members who do not trust each other cannot hope to survive. Fealty to the King, and to his individual subjects, is of the utmost importance. Treachery will be dealt with according to it's severity, and betrayal of the Pride's innermost dealings will result in trial and judgement by the King and his council.
II. Peace among Pride members and those whom the Pride has good connections with is as crucial as anything else. Murder will not be tolerated, assasination will not be withstood, and injury of another member of the Pride without permission from the King will be dealt with according to the severity of the infringement. One-on-one, single combat, first blood, and other such methods are heavily frowned upon, violence is not the answer. If the issue at hand cannot be resolved by the Pride members it offends, the King and his council will discuss it, and come to a conclusion. Aggression is frowned upon, and is used only as a last resort. Friction and tension between Pride members is created by the death of another, and is always to be avoided. This regulation also covers the breeding rights with other Prides. A liason may be formed between families, and then--and only then--is the free breeding between Prides allowed. Permission must be granted by the King in all other instances, including inter-Pride breeding. THe ETTiQUeTTE I. Honor, integrity and respect in one's bearing, manners and treatment of others. Insults, petty crimes and other such dishonors are not accepted. One's Pride is one's family, and they should be treated with as much reverance as one reserves for one's self. Friendship is not mandatory, the King does not insist on all being the best of companions, but civility and calm acceptance is rewarded, and contrary treatment shall be confronted by the King.
II. The leaking of such Pride information or 'secrets' is forbidden, and is punishable by Pride law. A meeting between the two leaders will follow, and a formal trial will be conducted with both Kings and Queens present, or such a Steward or Heir or Governer as had been appointed by the Kings and/or Queens for this time.
III. Pride meetings are to be attended regularly. Cubs, juveniles, mothers, and Creche leaders are exempt from such meetings if their duties conflict. If prior engagements with other Prides are made, the King and only the King will give the permission for certain members to be absent for such a time.
THe UNSAiD LAWS I. Pride duties are to be carried out regularly, to the best of each individual member's ability.
II. The elderly are to be respected above one's equals, and the young are to be taught lessons by all the Pride. Both are exempt from normal duties, and the latter may not take part in Pride meetings unless otherwise stated.
III. Permission to join the Pride may only be given by the King, or an appointed Steward or Heir or Governer that has been given such power, most specifically, by the King himself. New rules will be added at a later date or as needed, please stay tuned~!

The position is not open for others, but it is empty, so to speak.
AND
If anybody makes any stupid jokes on 'libertines', I'll go berserk. 'Libertine' means 'freedom' or 'candor' in latin, and I am not making any references to the use of the word today. Libertine females indeed...>______>;;;
