And In The Night
they arrived...
Long ago, an entourage of souls - wolves, deer, rabbits, lynxes, seals, and some others - departed from the Heavenly Palace, ostensibly to remind the humans of their divinity, those who had previously revered them individually as gods. They sailed across Laax'ktal, the Sea of Stars, on the Moon Barge. Along the way, the Legend goes, they ran out of food - for, in the Heavenly Palace, so close to the Divine Light, they needed no sustenance - and resorted to eating the stars themselves, becoming the Stareaters.
After landing on Earth in an archipelago off of North America, they found no humans, but as they had little ability to carry food with them, they could not make it back to the Moon Barge, which was anchored far into the sea in its reflection. And time passed - they loved, had children, bled, swore loyalty, died in the archipelago known as Terra Eriasî.
That was a thousand years past. Today, in the year of 1203 B.C.E., the thousand-times progeny of those original Creatures - the Stareaters - are struggling to find a way back to the Heavenly Palace - all but the Granite Clan, who openly mock the idea that there ever was a Heavenly Palace.
And worse, three babes have been born - babes whose first act of life was not to cry for food, but to slaughter their siblings and their mother. Each of them bears the sign of a black vortex on their glowing white coats...
