Kishkir turned and watched her cubs. She smiled at them. Both would stop everyonce in a while and play. She watched Hitomi and Kuwat. Kuwat looked just like his father and he would grow to be strong. Hitomi growled and tackled her brother to the ground. "Alright kids! Come on! Lets find a place to rest!" She said slightly annoyed that it had taken them so long to reach these lands. "Come on!" She growled and both cubs followed their mother. She smiled as she saw a tree come into the distance. She walked up under it and curled up. She was exausted and her cubs only added to her fatigue.

Latley the darkened lioness had been thinking about Because. These cubs would be his if he had consented. She growled at the thought. "Don't think about him. He rejected you...like some sort of an animal with a disease." She growled. She she crossed her sand covered paws and placed her head comfortably ontop of them. She sighed and watched as her 'cubs' fought over a bone, to which they had found only moments before. Her thoughts wandered back to Because...she couldn't help but wonder how he was doing. She missed him so and despite her bitterness towards him she still cared for him...deeply. He had wounded her though.

It had been a while since she had seen her brother Truth, and she had always been a favorite of his. Dancer walked into Eiroka easily, almost boldly. Why should she worry? Truth was her big brother after all and he would never attack her or drive her off his land. Suddenly wary, Dancer thought she heard something coming up but she only slowed her pace a little, still going at a nice trot. It showed her lean muscles off nicely, but she didn't do it because of this. She didn't think like that. The sun shined on her pelt and she looked like a miniature sun herself, glowing. Dancer was in her prime and she really liked her life. A smell his her nostrils. A lioness and two cubs were up ahead. Not wanting to worry them, she slowed her pace and smiled. She wasn't exactly 'harmless' but she didn't look very dangerous. Dancer was very beautiful and her smile made her look even more so. Her frame was not stocky, nor leggy. It was somewhere in the middle with nicely chiseled sinew that she exercised regularly. A few meters away from the trio, Dancer stopped. She had not seen these lions before and she wondered if this was Truth's family. Not knowing what to say, the lioness just stood there. Her smile was serene and content and yet nearly invisible. It was hard to say it was really there even though you knew it must be.

Kishkir red flagged. She perked up at hearing a steady beat of paws coming ever closer. She growled and watched as her cubs looked up from their play fighting. She stood and watched the young lioness approuch. 'Bold.' She thought. 'You're gonna get the snot beat out of you if you come up to a lioness with two cubs.' She thought. She watched as the lioness came closer and watched as a smile spread across the femme's maw. "You are far too bold." She said. The words slipped smoothly from the lioness' cool black lips. "You are Dancer are you not? A wanter of Because?" She asked turning to attention back to her now again playing cubs.

Dancer nearly choked. " What?! Who--I never said. I thought... " She had thought it was private, it was a secret. Apparently not. Her gaze turned slightly cold but he smile was still in place, not fake, but genuinely amused.
That, Said Dancer calmly That, is neither here nor there.
This had to be Kishkir...How foolish of her to think Truth would be with this lioness, his scent was not on the cubs. And, a ray of hope fell across Dancer's mind, they didn't smell like Because either. They had to be another male's. Possibly another male in the Alethea Pride. He was not around, and if this lioness attacked her she was ready. By why should she? Dancer was not acting aggressive. She only wished her brother would join them, he had always protected her in times like these. " A wanter of Because?! Mind you own business! Wanter of Because...I might be, but even if I was; how did she know?! " Dancer wanted to cry, snarl and rip up the ground at the same time. She did neither, but just stood their calmly like Mother had taught her to and licked her paw casually free of dirt. [/blockquote]

Kishkir walked forward. "You come here and question me?" She asked. "Your young and stupid! Because won't want you. He never will. He has a love." She said. "You have nerve kid and I give you that. But your stupid as well. Even if these are your brother's lands you have just swam into open waters. Shark infested waters. You come boldly here while a mother with two young cubs has no male by her side. Any other would have torn you apart. Be thankful I am aware of who you are." She said smirking.

So it was going to be like that, was it? It was only to be expected, what with hormones and all.
Actually, I was under the impression you were his love. Or do you want both him and your other boy toy? Because won't like that much, I don't think. But don't take it from me, you can borrow some of my nerve and walk into the ruins and ask him.
Dancer's voice was still light and calm, but her smile was not there anymore. She couldn't have both, she had to pick. Whichever she did, it would leave Dancer feeling guilty. She had not heard of Keira's talk with Because, then? Dancer had thought the King was over it. Or, if not entirely over it, then ready to make friends. Nothing more.
For your information, I am not a 'wanter' of Because's. I'm a friend. Her gaze turned icy and she continued. Am I to understand that you are the one that left Because simply for the reason that he wouldn't give you cubs?
It was a pathetic excuse in Dancer's opinion to leave a man simply because he didn't feel like breeding her that second. So she had found a male that would, and now she was crawling back to Because? How she regreted ever entering Eiroka now. It was foul, that's what it was, to hear this story yet again. [/blockquote]

Kishkir watched the young female. "I left him because he still had an attachment to his old love. I won't be the back burner bitch." She said. "Well I am a bitch anyways but, you understand." She said. "I am over him." She lied. She had no reason to bare her soul to this young femme. "I can read you like a book!" She said.

Dancer wasn't really interested in this 'old love' of Because's. Like she said, she was his friend. Sure she was very taken with the King, but if life was going to get complicated because Kishkir was resentful, Dancer was having second thoughts about returning all that quickly.
Read me like a book? Well, at least I'm readable. Some books... Dancer glared at Kishkir Some books are so ugly on the inside, you don't want to open them for fear you eyes will melt out.
Then she smiled graciously, and then her face turned from angry mask to tired. Why was Kishkir so eager to fight her? Why couldn't they have been friends. She had her own male now and Dancer would be good friends with Because. Why couldn't they be happy with each other?
Your cubs are very handsome, Kishkir, they look strong.
It was sincere, and Dancer was making an effort. She was trying to patch up this hole, but she doubted she could fill it by herself. Kishkir still looked like she wanted to fight, but Dancer's mood had left her. They were, after all, good-looking cubs and Dancer didn't think they would look any better if they were Because's. "They are strong." She said. "And they will learn to be great killers." She said looking at her cubs. "Some books are not ment to be read. As I am." She said. She didn't mind that Dancer had called her ugly. This young femme knew nothing about how ugly life could be and about how it could twist a soul and blacken it.

Surprisingly, Dancer laughed. It was a ringling, silvery laugh so much like that of her sisters and she then smiled.
It is nice to see them so young. To watch them grow up, as they look more and more like you and your mate. But I speak as if I have experienced it. I have never had cubs of my own. Strange, is it not? I never found the time. I doubt I ever shall.
Dancer noticed with interest how Kishkir's expression changed slightly. She had not reacted to her comment, and it pleased the lioness. Though the part about these innocent becoming great killers troubled her. She was very glad she had not had as forceful a mother as this when she had grown up.
Do you really think that they will be killers? Do you want them to kill?
It was a simple question and Dancer asked it in all her own innocence, as a child might. The truth was, that even though she didn't really like Kishkir, she admired her. She seemed much more experienced and...Better. Maybe she had judged her wrong...But then again, maybe she hadn't. What about Because? What was she supposed to think about him? Everything she had heard about him now led he to believe that he was not as nice as she had once thought. Or was that just Kishkir's bias because he had not favored her? Dancer would wait and see. Because for all the lioness' faults, she was very patient and she would always stick around even if it hurt her to do so.
Loyalty is the most important thing... Dancer said softly to herself, not realizing she had spoken aloud. [/blockquote]

"They won't be young forever." She said watching her cubs with intent eyes. "I loved him. And I still do. But things can never be the same. I was a fool to think he loved me. We were allies for so long that he asked me to be apart of the pride. A second in command if you will. He confided in me that he still had feelings for his other...other." She said giving herself a puzzled look. "I didn't leave him just because he wouldn't give me cubs. But because of the fact that I would never be anything more then second. I would always fall just short behind the woman that he loves. And I can't and won't have that." She said turning to the femme. Kishkir knew she was his favorite. She always had been. And she had always kept a special place in her heart for him.

Dancer nodded sadly. Cubs would not be cubs forever, and Kishkir was not happy with second. It was a sad story and she wanted to run away from it all.
That's pretty much why I've never gotten' involved. I didn't want to fight for a nice person. I just thought...Just thought that if I was ever meant to be with someone I would know. Maybe Because will live his whole life thinking about that 'other'. I don't think so though. My niece, bless her soul, gave him a sharp lecture and I think he's working on it.
Dancer knew that Kishkir couldn't go back, because to got back she would have to leave her mate now and that would be as bad as before. But she also knew that even if Because did start to pay more attention to her, he wouldn't love her the same as he had loved Kishkir and that made Dancer feel exactly like the other lioness.
I know now that even if Because does decide to love another, he won't love them the same as he did you and that 'other'. It gets worse every time I suppose.
" Just like this conversation gets more sad... " But Dancer knew that she couldn't run away forever. She wanted to tell Kishkir it was all right, that she would get over it and be happy but Dancer couldn't bring herself to lie like that. [/blockquote]

"I have no mate. He has left me." She said. "I know not where he has gone. And I cannot look Because in the eyes ever again." She said. "I must be strong for my cubs. Honor is more important then loyalty." She said. That was what she saw fit. "You are so young and still have much to learn. Learn how to take care of yourself with out the help of a man." She said turning towards the femme.

He will return. Dancer said stoutly. Even if he does not, I think there is something to be said for waiting with honor, with pride, with dignity for him, don't you?
Dancer was done. She needed to rest somewhere, she had not slept in a day or so, having traveled far to get here. Her mouth stretched in a small yawn and she looked apologetically at Kishkir.
I wish you the best of luck with your cubs, I might stop by soon. I need to be getting on though. Maybe Honor will meet Loyalty before long, who knows...It has happened before.
Then, Dancer bowed a little and trotted off to the center of Eiroka where it was cooler. Her tail twitching to a silent beat to which only Dancer knew how to move to. [/blockquote]
